The problem is not with the inputs. This unit is in protect because a problem has been detected in the output section. Try disconnecting the speaker wires and turning it on. If the unit remains on, there is a short in one of the speaker wires. If the unit still shuts down, there is an internal problem that will require repair. It sounds like this is a new piece. If so, it should be covered under warranty.

Onkyo tx sr 703 Will not work Power on Standby on Il shows volume for 3 seconds and then turns itself off

3 seconds shut down: dc protection triggered. The problem comes from the vertically installed circuit board next to the heat sink with power transistors mount.

I got an Onkyo amp- TX-SR674, don't know why i turn on it but after 2 seconds, it will switch off and standby light is flashing, can many times. Please help

If the stand by red light starts blinking after 4 seconds of switching On it indicates an output short circuit. In all probability one of the Amplifiers output stage is defective and to prevent speaker damage the protection circuit is getting activated in 4 seconds. You will need professional help to fix this.

My tx-nr905 recievers output audio goes out when connected to my projector and a dvd player, but its ok with any other output combo; proj/sat or tv/dvd or tv/sat etc..... bought new about 4 yrs ago, has...

Semantics maybe, but sources are INputs. OUTputs are speakers, audio to other devices.

A DVD is always an INPUT.

So what's different? IOW, how are the DVD and Projector (Really? It uses a video OUTput) connected for audio? Have you looked at the manuals? Digital sources must be assigned, for example.

Lost video signal to monitor (TV)

I had the same problem - Onkyo had me reset the unit by holding down VCR and pushing the power button. Make sure you record your settings before doing this - as the unit will be fully reset. This solved the video problem for me.

Onkyo TX-DS989 not staying on

This sounds like the action of some protection circuit that is monitoring some condition or voltage that isn't within its design limits. If it was mine, I'd look for an Onkyo forum to see if others have experienced the same problem.

Brand new Onkyo Tx-sr605 won't leave stand by

If the unit will not leave standby I would remove all power, disconnect *all* connections at the back, reconnect to a power source and try powering on. This will eliminate any connection causing the Onkyo to stay in standby due to a short. If it still will not enter power-on mode, you may want to look at the power source (is it properly grounded?), but beyond that the unit probably needs to go back.
