Hi, my panasonice lumix dmc-tz3 has a black screen. The display itself works, it will still show all details like iso, pic. quality etc etc but the scene itself does not appear on the screen. I have checked the lens's are opening and closing when the camera is switched on and not stuck closed. I was advised it may be the image sensor that has died? Any other ideas? And if it is the image sensor, would i be better of buying a new one or repairing the faulty one? Thanks.

Memory card likely has temporary(needs formatting) or permanent problems(needs replacing, common for off branded china junk).

First format the mem card on your camera by pressing center Menu button then scrolling down to the end of the menu to Format. If this does not work, and you have bought a Name Brand SD card; Sandisk/Kingston/Patriot etc, return it to place of purchase with receipt, or creditcard use to purchase it, and they will replace it.

SOURCE: bluish colour with Lumix TZ3

I found 2 different Lumix TZ3 cameras.
http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/PNAEndecaSearchCmd?N=779832097+250033510&Ne=&Ns=&Nr=12001&No=0&Ntt=tz3&Ntk=SupportSearch&URL=vSupportSearch&cmTag=false&cm_sp=&cn=&catalogId=13401&storeId=15001

In the manual, I couldn't find a reference to a bluish color.

In FAQ's, I found the following:
What is “Intelligent Auto Mode” (or IA Mode)?
“IA mode” automatically activates MEGA O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Selector, Intelligent Exposure, and Quick Auto Focus to match your subject and shooting situation. IA Mode is a great mode for beginning photographers

Camera shows no images on screen

Have you reformatted the memory card recently? If so, it's empty. If not, try a different card and take some pics with that one. Experiment with "display" button, also. Good Luck. Ed

My Panasonic DMC-TZ3 has a black screen can't get it to view. Does anyone have any ideas why?

Hi,
If you able to click the pic but all thing shows only black black nothing to see,,,all functions are working just not seen anything, then you have a problem in your lance , there is lance flex in your lance may be damaged so you must be replace it and you got your camera as before, if you are technician then first buy lance flex of your camera and replace it, if not then send it to any authorised repairer, its not a big problem its routing problem of cameras,

Black screen when taking pictures

Increase your ISO.

Lower your F-point value (increase your aperture)

And, increase shutter speed.

If you cannot fix the other two parameters, try the first one, will work.

Pics are blank in viewer

there are many reasons that no picture is displayed:
1. there is no picture in the first place. (camera lens closed when picture was taken)
2. you are not on display mode (toggle to display mode not "take picture" or capture mode)
3. defective memory card.
4. you are on display mode but on another sub-mode which does not display pics... (toggle to display, details, etc...)

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3

Use your USB cable or a Card Reader. Read your manual to insert Date on pictures. Note date will show on pic and cannot be removed.

Best idea is to downloand you pics asap and change each pic file name to embed date taken in filename, not on the pic itself.

I recomment the San Disk MobileMate SD+ miniature Card Reader for SD and MicroSD card reading. Just a little larger than a Flash Thumb Drive. Saves lugging around a USB camera cable and saves your camera power otherwise needed to power a download via a USB cable. About $15 at RadioShack, Staples, etc retail stores selling cameras.
