Subwoofer ... it is hooked up, but no sound

It worked just fine on another Onkyo ... but this one, no sound -- power is on, etc. ... and, interestingly, when going through channel select options, "subwoofer' is not an option (although front R and L speakers, surround R and L speakers and center speaker ARE options ...

thank you

I found a manual online, and learned that there is a speaker set-up procedure on this Onkyo model ... so when it got to the subwoofer set-up, I simply went from "subwoofer off" to "subwoofer on"

Just hooked up psw10 10in to a onkyo receiver I tested it it worked but there’s no sound the standby light is red

Maybe "Polk Audio PSW10 10’’ "&there’s no sound the standby light is red. Connect onkyo av-amp sub pre-out to line in and enter Onkyo av-amp speaker setting then subwoofer level calibration finally set +10db.

How to hook up tr-505. 5.1A/V

Assuming you have all 5 speakers and a powered subwoofer it's very simple. There is an RCA plug labeled "Subwoofer Out" that goes to your powered subwoofer. The speakers are labeled as well Left/Rigt Front and rear along with center. Make sure you hook them all up Positive and negative exactly the same or it won't sound right. Phase issues are the number one cause of bad sound and, besides, why spend money on a good ONkyo if you don't intend to do it right? Hope this helps

No sound from Sub Pre-out on Onkyo TX-SR606

Also, it could possibly the preout terminal itself that is not working. One way to prove that is by transferring the subwoofer cable from the preout and temporarily transfer it to the tape out section. If it ouputs sound from there, then that means the speaker and the cables are working fine and it's just the preout terminal itself that is not picking up anything. ^_^

Onkyo 805 sub hook up problem

Talked to tech support at Onkyo and there seems to be two (2) places you can hook your sub up to. I placed mine in the wrong slot. So please double check where you placed the sub connection.

Onkyo subwoofer not working

I fixed my subwoofer. The resistor at R16 (right next to the fuse) was the fried component. I removed it and replaced it with a 13K ohm 5 watt metal oxide resistor (from Mouser Electronics if not available locally). Works fine now. I got the solution and the circuit schematic from an audio hobbiest at diyAudio.com. This is, evidently, a fairly common problem.
