This motherboard suports SATA (Serial ATA 3Gbps) meaning that it is compatible with any SATA hard drive. A 2TB (Tera Byte) hard drive is the highest capacity available on the market. This motherboard has 4 SATA connections so you can put up to 4 SATA hard drives into it.

Yes you can, there won't be any problem install 500GB hard disk on your motherboard. It is recommended to use SATA type Hard Disk Drive instead of the old IDE/ATA.
