There are a few things you may need to check. You already tried calibration. Next thing I would do is check the sensor wire from the incline to the controller. Make sure its properly plugged into the controller. The controller can also be an issue. If someone was tampering with the unit, the sensor wire could be plugged into the wrong connector as there is another connector that will fit.
