NEED STEP BY STEP ON HOW TO DO TUNE UP PLZ

So depending on Engine size, you either have 6 spark plugs or 8. The 6 cylinder doesn't have a cap and rotor, so just plugs and wires. The plugs are a 5/8 or 16mm socket. It is a special socket that has a rubber cushion to try and not break the plugs when removing or installing them. Regardless of 6 or 8 cylinder, you want the car to be cold for this. You grab one spark plug wire at a time, twist it back and forth, and pull straight away from the spark plug. Sometimes this is easier said than done. You want to purchase new plugs and wires, and if your car has a cap and rotor, you will want to get those too. I recall the '93 Z28 has a very expensive distributor cap, over $200 so maybe don't change that. The better brand of plugs come pre gapped. AC Delco is a great brand for Chevy. You want to put antiseize on the threads. Unscrew the old one, then install the new one. My favorite tool when doing this is a 6" wobble extension, as it seems to help with most plugs. You can take a piece of vacuum tubing 1/8" and stick it on the tip of the plug to help install the plugs without stripping out the threads in the engine cylinder head. You can remove one spark plug wire at a time and line it up for length with the new one in the set you purchased. Put Dielectric grease in the boot that goes on the spark plug end. Don't put it on the other side (Coil or distributor cap). Although there are many filters that can be involved in a tune up depending on the mileage of the vehicle, the biggest difference in how a car runs typically is spark plugs.

What are the parts you need to do a tune up ?

A basic tune-up would be spark plugs. Make sure you use a/c delco plugs! A major tune-up would include plugs, wire, cap, and rotor. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

How do i change spark plugs on my envoy?

If you have a 4.2 L engine, Remove the 10mm bolts on the coils, on top of the engine, remove the electrical connector then the coil, your truck has individual coils, spark plugs are in the hole, 5/8 spark plug socket, don't buy cheap spark pluggs for this truck, it will miss fire, I prefer autolites Autolite Xp Iridium/Spark Plug

What is the best spark plug wire for a 1997 Cadillac Deville? Also the best plugs?

The best wires and spark plugs for any GM product is AC Delco. They are the original equipment manufacturers for all GM cars and trucks. They are designed to last at least 80,000 miles. With other brands, you cannot be sure how long they will last.

Dumps raw gas into engine

Just a few things to check. Take off the fuel filter and make sure there is no water in it. If you have put in different spark plugs than AC Delco, then change them to AC Delco. If you haven't looked at the plugs or the fuel filter, then it is way past time to replace the filter and new AC Delco spark plugs only. These places that insist that you use Bosch plugs or split fire plugs don't know ****. The Delco plugs are made especially for your engine and will out last those cheap non-working Bosch plugs.
If the fuel filter and plugs don't fix it, make sure your air filter intake isn't stopped up with a bird's nest. Happens a lot. If it still misses after new plugs, you may have a fuel injector sticking.
The bad smoke is the gas-thinned oil passing the rings and unburnt fuel smoke. The missing really bad is most likely fuel soaked spark plugs. Make sure you change the oil while changing the plugs or you will have a redo. Let us know if any of this helps. Dale
