My portable coby dvd player is showing an error message reading 'Wrong Regional Disc' this message shows to all dvds i have tried. all the dvds are region 2 and the bottom of the dvd player has the regio 2 logo on. the dvd player has worked fine and never shone this message beforr.

Ring manufacturer and ask for code. Sylvania ??? hmmm

The DVD portable player and the DVD disc came from the same countries?Ur DVD portable player and DVD disc u are using might have the wrong region DVD disc format frequencies.Like PAL frequencies only play Euroupean,Asia,Middle East,Austriala and Africa products.NTSC frequencise play only USA,Canada and Mexico DVD Disc products.

Did you make the disk if you made the disk your computer has to give it a digital signature so the DVD player can read it if you're using a regular DVD then I would very carefully using rubbing alcohol and Q tip clean the actual laser I would be very careful doing this if too much rubbing alcohol is on the Q tip it will ruin the laser you can also try resetting the DVD player by taking out the battery and unplugging it from any power source and leave it that way for at least 20 seconds to a minute if that doesn't work you might have something else wrong

when it says wrong disc, optical pickup assy needs to be replaced J.D.W.

Is it the Panasonic Portable DVD player

i had the same problem and messing up with the lenses and sliding it to its bed won't do any good it will make it worst.. bring it to the nearest repairshop because there is a part that needs to be replaced..

Its defective. Coby doesn't repair the units. The lense is off balance which is causing the laser to not read the dvd/cd.

Unfortunately, your DVD player is broken. Portable units like these often get bumped and jostled and the motor that spins the DVD quits (very small and fragile). Sorry, I wish there were a magic button.

yea take your DVD player to a repairman your micro could be your problem.good luck.
