CD changer does not work anymore. Loaded the magazine with CDs. The screen displayed "CD ERROR" at first. I unloaded the magazine, changed the CDs, reloaded. Now the error message displays "NO MAGAZINE" and the changer will no longer eject the magazine. A faint electric motor sound can be heard when pressing the eject motor. Thanks for any help.

The magazine wouldn't eject which i'm told is due to a weak or dirty belt or gearing. I have a temporary solutuion for this (which is to undo the top of the frame inside the caring which releases the...

Hi
Open top cover, if the empty magazine was left inside the cd trays it can slide out into the playing area and jam the unit, check it like that anyhow. Sometimes you can see a small metal tab to release the magazine.

However Error1 means Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.
And NO CD.CD error message means No CD in magazine or no magazine in CD Changer.

To fix the problem, disconnect the CD changer.
take off the top plastic slide cover,
with a small screwdriver slowly move the gearing so that the CD disc holder will move back to the load - unload position.
Pop out the CD holder.
Replace unit, reconnect the optic and power lead, switch on radio and the unit will work again.
grease the moving parts with light lubricant.

CDAC ER2

CDAC ER2 usually means a cd is stuck, not reading properly, or that the magazine is stuck or broken. take out all cds and try it with a known good cd (one that played ok in the past). if that doesn't work, try unplugging the unit and plugging it back in.

if it still doesnt work, take the magazine out, power it up so that you get the "no mag" error, then insert the magazine with no discs and see if it still errors out with ER2. if it does, then the magazine is bad, or the changer is bad..

if it works, then try the known good disc again, if it works now, your magazine was probably stuck, or one of the other cd's isn't liked by the changer.

hope this helps,
trin
