Hi,
Ouch! This is not going to be pleasant to hear, but the symptom you very accurately described points to the failure of a small part in the circuit called a resistor.(a device that impedes electron flow)
It is not usually user serviceable if the Receiver is of a recent design. i.e. using modern printed circuit boards for it's construction.
Sorry,
Best Regards,
Mark

My first guess is dirt in the volume control potentiometers (analog-type rotary or slide volume control only).

You have a bad potentiometer which is a variable resistor. Might be the switch you are turning.

HOW TO VOLUME the speaker even if the volume is 100 already.why is it low?

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL.

http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules

Volume problems on computers often happen for a variety of reasons.

Volume troubleshooting, however, is one of the easiest problems to troubleshoot because there are only a few things that usually cause the problems.

Usually the problem isn't even an error but just merely an adjustment that needs to be made.

Test your speakers.

This is the first thing you should check if you can't hear anything coming out of your computer. First try turning up the volume know and make sure you are in fact turning the volume knob and not a tone or balance knob.

Make sure the speakers are completely plugged in to the wall and the computer. Test with another set of speakers or headphones after you have done this.

Check the computer volume level.

On the taskbar is a volume icon, which usually looks like a small speaker.

Click on the icon and turn the volume up.

Make sure it has not been muted.

Double clicking on the icon will bring up a panel of several volume controls.

Try turning up the volume on each slider.

Go to Control Panel and choose "Sounds and Audio Devices."

Under the volume tab, click speaker volume and turn up the level if needed.

Turn up the application volume. Most programs that use sound have an additional volume control just for that program.

Find the volume control and turn it up.

Usually it is located in the lower right or left corner on the program, but you may have to search for it.

Troubleshoot the sound card.

Download the latest drivers from your sound card manufacturer's website.

Go to Control panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. Click on "Sound, Video and Game Controllers."

Click on your sound card, select the driver tab and then click on "Update Driver."

Point to the file where you saved the latest drivers from the website.

After this, restart your computer.

The speaker plug/outlets is usually at the back of the computer or if its a laptop on the side

you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make

sure the connection is good with no dust as dust causes static electricity

clean your computer of dust using a can of compressed air or fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is

no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit

dust causes static to build up in a computer

If this doesn't solve your problem, try reseating the sound card into your computer.

Get a lot of static when try and turn volume down low.....in fact, sometimes it is hard to get sound when you turn the volume down....it is either full blast or silent.....lots of static like noise when...

This is an easy fix with a can of volume knob cleaner i think its called. You should be able to get it at radio shack. You just spray it into the volume knob and let it dry. The instructions are on the can.

Blippy Sound

Sounds like the cords that are going into the PC/system have static. Remove the cords from the speakers and simply put your finger around the jacks to remove static. Push the cords and the jacks back in and switch on the speakers. Then twist the volume control, turning it up loud and then low, then loud and low again. That should cure the problem as it removes static that gets built up over time. Either that or your speakers could well be damaged.

Scratching (static) noise coming from computer speakers

I foudn this in anther forum:
I have an ASUS motherboard P5E3 Premium. The audio that came with it was the Sound Max audio. I also noticed abnormal sounds coming from the speakers. They included sounds during hard drive activity and also with mouse movement. They were not loud but noticable. I searched all over the web but didn't find the answer. I stumbled across the fix myself. I also have vista-64. In the sound control panel > speaker properties > levels... there is a pc beep slide bar. I noticed that if it is disabled then the abnormal sound went away completely. Problem solved. Hope this helps.
