This set does have a hard reset which is done with the original Mitsubishi remote, confirm actual model number and I will tell you how to do it.

It will return the set to the condition it was when new in the box, all labels on inputs will be gone, set should then come on channel three in AIR band; YOU HAVE TO AUTOPROGRAM it and put into cable band if using that.

Let me know model number.

This model is WAS-55859. Unable to make changes with the remote audio also. If reset, I am assuming that I will not be able to hook up to theater sound system, because I will not be able to turn speakers off? Thank you so much for your help....

    I presume is WS-55859?

Hard reset for that model with set on and Mitsubishi remote is Menu, 0,1,7,0 and enter.

Remove hdd password

You can change it but not 'remove' it. Simplest is to use '00000' as the default password.
Instructions
1 Shut down your computer.
2 Press the power button on your computer. While it is booting, press F2 repeatedly (do not just hold it down) until you arrive at a system screen showing a series of
options. This screen is called the BIOS Setup.

3 Use the down arrow key on your keyboard to scroll down to "Security" in the left-hand column.
4 Arrow right to display a sub-menu under Security in the left-hand column.
5 Arrow down to "Internal HD PW" in the left-hand column. (That stands for Internal Hard Drive Password.)
6 Delete the old password (if any) and, in the same box, enter a new password of at least four characters in length in the main screen at right.
7 Write the password down and keep it in a safe place.
8 Hit Enter.
9 Hit the Escape button on your keyboard to exit the Internal HD PW menu, then hit Escape again to proceed to the Exit screen of the BIOS Setup.
10 Arrow right to save the changes you made to the password, then hit Enter on your keyboard to exit the BIOS Setup.
11 Restart your computer and use the password you created in the BIOS Setup to gain access to your hard drive.

Hard d bios password

to change the password, do this:
1. go to into "setup" from the boot up entry (turn on comp, then press F2 or F12, depending on your OS; look for them in the bottom left corner; if you don't press it before the OS loads, you'll need to restart and do it again)
2. Once in setup, you'll see a menu bar - for each item on the bar (i.e., File, Edit etc) select F9 and select yes when prompted to save changes. Do this for each. Then go to the Menu Bar Option that will allow you to change the password. It will ask you for the old password - do not enter anything - simply hit enter - then hit enter for the new password entry, as well as the "confirm" password entry (if applicable, should be).
Then, go to exit, and "exit saving changes". The OS will automatically reload. If and when you are prompted to enter a password for the OS, hit enter. You should be brought to the OS (windows) desktop.
If this does not work, please let me know.

Hi... I have a problem during installing Windows Xp in my laptop, im getting an error message like 'setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.... plz.. help me out...

reboot your computer and hit f2 when you first see the logo popup, this will take you into the setup. Arrow over to boot at the top of the screen.hit f5/f6 until your cdrom drive is first on the list. Arrow over to exit and save changes and exit. Before you hit enter, put your XP cd in the cdrom so it will boot to cd when you restart. You should be able to reinstall windows doing this. When you are done, to reverse the process and return your bootup to normal default, hit f2 at the logo, when you are in the setup utility hit f10 to load setup defaults and exit, your computer will reboot and you should be good to go!

Hdd password locked how can i get around it?

Restart the computer:

When it starts to load, watch at the bottom of the screen for two F commands:

You'll have to look quick, cause they don't stay up long, and you may need to restart to see both of them.

Once you have located and determined which will enter setup, hit that F command to go into setup.

Once in setup, you'll see a File Menu.

Scroll to the menu that allows you to change the password.

To change it (since you don't know or can't remember the old one) simply hit enter in this field. If you want a new one, type in the desired password and (write it down) and hit enter. If you don't want a password, simply hit enter and it will enter blank as no password.(not the word "blank"), it will just be set for NO password.

Once you have successfully changed (cancelled out) the password, scroll over ot the Exit Menu list, and scroll down to "save and exit".

This will exit setup and your OS should resume to open. If it prompts for a password, simply hit enter, and it should load into the OS.

If it does not, restart the computer, as it may not have saved the new setting just yet.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

The first step is to make sure that all of your speakers are functioning properly and are wired in the correct place. To do this, turn on your TV and receiver, and hit "SETUP" on your remote. Step down and select "Audio" from the list on the left, and select "5.1 Speaker Setup" from the menu on the right. Scroll down to "TEST" and step through each speaker using the right and left arrow keys on your remote, ensuring that each speaker is functioning properly. Exit out of the "SETUP" menu when finished.

Now, when you have a source that you would like to hear on 5.1 channels, but is encoded in 2.1, hit the "SOUND" button on your remote until "PL II MOVIE" or "PL II MUSIC" is displayed on your screen. This stands for Dolby Pro Logic II, and is the way that your receiver multiplexes a 2-channel signal.
