I purchased a VeriFone 11 Mbps 802.11b Wireless Compact Flash Adapter card for my Axim X5. I put the disc and the wifi card in my laptop and I can get on the internet. But can't seem to get it going in the Axim. It always reads "Unrecognized Card". Could you give me a bit of advice,please?? Cheers

You could get original disk from ebay at times but all you need is the Activesync that can be downloaded from Microsoft. Get Active sync 4.2. The newer ones do NOT work with the X5.

Good luck with the wireless card. The Axim does not play well with many of them. (sometimes works but mostly not) Try drivers from d Link and be sure to remove the old drivers first.

Go to Wal Mart and buy a 1 gig SD card----- and then buy a AmbiCom 54G wireless CF card. Works perfectly in my X5.

It does NOT have integrated WiFi, you will have to buy a compact-flash card, the Linksys WCF12 works perfectly in mine.

To copy word documents, simply connect your device to your computer, click "Explorer" in ActiveSync, and then transfer the word document from your desktop to your Pocket PC. ActiveSync will do the conversion from Word to Pocket Word for you. As for wireless internet service, you need a wireless Compact Flash card and data service. Sprint is one of the few companies that offers this, and there is also the Pocket Spider from Enfora which can connect on some wireless networks.

Since a SD memory card is about the same size [width and thickness] as a Memory Stick, I doubt there will ever be an adapter available between these two formats. There just isn't any room unless they came up with a very large adapter which would stick out and be unwieldly. You can get Compact Flash adapters (which are much larger) from a company called Pretec for about US$59.00, plus I'm sure there are others. I use a full sized PC Card adapter on my laptop to convert between the SD Memory card for my Axim X5 and the SmartMedia card for my digital camera and MP3 player.

You can only use on cf card at a time, in the Axim.

The Axim should support any compact flash memory card. So yes it should work.

just a guse but the batery looks to have enouth mA to run a CF 802.11b card and an sd blue touth card i think if you will be connected to a network or a wifi connection i would invest the money in the 3400MAH insted of the 1440MAH.
