Worked for me too. I gave up on it until I decided to do a Google search. After years of being down, it now works again.

My Pioneed VSX-819H is less than 1 year old. Stopped switching from TV/SAT to any other mode. It used to have a slow response, but now it does not respond at all. Have checked all components attached and...

It is usually a computer board issue which controls the unit. You could attempt to replace the bad relay, but you would have to test each part to find out where the electrical break is. You may get lucky and just have a bad switch which controls the selections, or even a bad fuse. Take the cover off and see if there is a faulty fuse, or lose connection. You may be better off taking it to an electrical repair shop.

Twice now my Pioneer VSX-819H has shut down. Can not get any power to it. The first time I'm sure the phono pre-amp caused a surge. I no longer have it hooked up. The servicer said nothing was wrong and...

I found this for the VSX918, 818. Perhaps it's similar.

The power does not turn on. • Disconnect the power plug from the outlet, and insert again.
• Make sure there are no loose strands of speaker wire touching the rear panel. This could cause the receiver to shut off automatically.
The receiver suddenly switches off and the power indicator
blinks.
• After about a minute (you won’t be able to switch the unit on during this time), switch the receiver back on. If the message persists, call a Pioneer authorized independent service company.

Resetting the main unit
Use this procedure to reset all the receiver’s settings to the factory default. Use the front panel controls to do this.
1 Switch the receiver into standby.
2 While holding down the ADVANCED SURROUND button, press and hold the
STANDBY/ON button for about three
seconds.
3 When you see RESET? appear in the display, press ‘
ST –’. OK?
shows in the display.
4 Press SOUND RETRIEVER to confirm.
OK
appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory settings.

Pioneer vsx-819H: MCACC setup won't display on tv

I would say check the cable version not everyone knows this but there are different version HDMI cables such as 1.0,1.1,1.2 and the newest 1.3 cable these are band-with depended cables and if you use a lower version this should work if not you might have a issue with video.

Other then that you might have a issue with the unit if all other signals are working on the monitor.. Ruling out this will be hard if you do not have another monitor to test it on. I would be conducting a test on other output monitors and see if you get any results.

please press the accept button as I worked hard to answer you question.
