may need to tell the laptop in the screen resolution settings to display the image on the tv instead of the laptop. Right click on the empty desktop of the laptop and go to either propertie or screen resolution and then make sure that the computer can see that the tv is hooked up and that the image is showing on the tv instead of the laptop. You may also need to change the mode on the tv to vga.
With no make or model, it is a little difficult to try and decide what the problem might be but, I would disconnect the touch button panel on the TV, if it has one. That could be the fault.
It does sound like a problem with your screen. If you want to get it fixed, a good company called revivemylaptop have an offer on at the moment. (www.revivemylaptop.com)
I connected the unit to the car charger instead of the USB charger and then held down the reset for 10-15 seconds, after which the system would show the computer connection on the charger and then boot up when not on the charger.
my guess would be that your mp3 may not be as compatible with the sound system as you thought, hmm... has your mp3 ever did anything like this before or even screw up atleast once?
One of the pesky features of windows Media Player is that if you delete the song/playlist from the computer's harddrive, and then resync your device to that same computer, then oftentimes the song/playlist disappears. Reacquire the song/playlist, and then try resyncing to the goGear again.
