No I understand that .. Is your dryer 220V electrical source? If so it sounds like you have an electrical problem with the voltage supply to the dryer itself. I for some reason the dryer is only getting 110V that will allow the drum and dryer to function but the heating element will not .. You may need to talk to an electrician if you are capable of doing that yourself

But why not invest in a roll-around laundry cart like you find at laundromats and keep the wet load there until the dryer is clear?) You might need to be more concerned about rust starting on the top of the cabinet if the enamel is scratched, since it's not usually subjected to wet loads being piled there. You should also check your vent pipe frequently to make sure it stays clear with all the drying you do. Clogged lint screens and vent pipes will definitely lengthen drying time.
