Hi there,

Once you've replaced the wand on the cleaner body, you should be able to retract the wand back down inside the hose by pressing the wand release button. For further information on doing this, please see the user guide supplied with the cleaner - if you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

Just pull REALLY HARD at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner, it'll pop off.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way to get the owners manual is from Royal itself and to contact the Royal factory @ the phone # listed below and to give them the brand name and model # in order to get the correct owner’s manual for your particular vacuum cleaner.
