Because the barbie movies are not rated this dvd player will not play them due to parent control lock I can't find my manual to see if there is a unlock code somewhere!
I had the same issue, but realized that it was any unrated movie - animated and non-animated - that didn't play on the dvd player. The 1234 code for the tv works to unlock the parental lock on the tv, BUT NOT the dvd player. For that, you're supposed to buy an activation code from TVGuardian, but BE CAREFUL - the code changes everytime your dvd player shuts off, then you have to buy a new code. The company that owns TVGuardian said that they have been having problems with this dvd player because Disney did not give them time to test their product on the player.

The password is used if the parental control is enabled. This lets a parent/guardian ensure that DVDs can't be watched without the password if the movie has a rating above the chosen limit. (If you obtained a used DVD player where previous owner chose to lock the system to Kid safe, you'd need the password to watch any movie that doesn't have that rating.) If the parental control is off, you do not need the password.
I can't find much on the ONA18DP001. In general, some older DVD players have an RF (coaxial) out cable connection for viewing the video on an older TV (NTSC tuner) with only an RF input. If your TV has other input options, you don't need to consider this input.
the preset password is 3308. but first goto set up menu select rating press enter/play, select rating agin press enter/play, chose rating you want, then enter password 3308, press set-up to exit, press enter/play to start.
OK I FOUND IT!!! IT'S 1234, when the parent control screen shows up press the play button then enter 1234 then press play again!!! The movie plays then!
According to the manual, "If you forget the password, you can erase your current password by pressing the number 8 button on the remote four times, thn press the enter button to confirm the setting. PASSWORD: 8888"
A picture of an unlocked lock indicates that Parent Lock is NOT active.
Called Zenith. They said: turn on the DVD player. Hit "set-up".
Scroll down to the "lock" icon. Scroll over to "Rating". Scroll over to unlock. Enter 0000. Click on Ok. Enter 0000 again, click Ok again. Menu should read unlock. Voila!
This is from the soundstorm website:
If your DVD player shows a "Parental Code" on the screen. Here is the factory default code. It is 3308.
