When pressing the start button, only the timer comes on, and the micro wave turn table and the microwave itself does not operate ? It had been operating intermittenly, now it does not work at all. Shutting the door hard would sometimes make it work.

I would check the door switches for corrosion and replace them.

Before we start...
An annoying little know trivia about micro-waves...
If used for EMPTY or for softening single pats of butter
they will soon self destruct (eat themselves... burn-out... fail).

When they do... their "micro-wave-generator" (magnetron) will
consume much more energy and cause the primary (most likely solitary fuse to operate)... "blown fuse".

Would that you had included a model number... (but alas).

Looking up your own model number on eBay or better GETTING your REAL PART NUMBER off of your original parts sheet will allow you to shop for the VERY BEST PRICE.

Sears has an excellent reference library... but if you want the same part you can get everywhere else for the HIGHEST price
SEARs ($$$$) is your place... (3 estimates... always!).


Don't forget to get that SPARE FUSE...!

Power to the turntable motor is supplied by a relay mounted on the main control board ( the part behind the control panel). Sounds like the relay contacts are stuck in the closed (on) position. You can try getting to the main board and tap the small box looking parts on the board with something like a screwdriver handle and see if you can get it to unstick. If that doesn't work---board needs replaced.

Key clue is table does not move---All microwaves with a table have a lever switch that is engaged when door closes--only can get at from inside the unit----it prevents the unit from operation if door not closed.

What happens from closing door a lot is the switch with a lever arm can come loose or even if snapped into a plastic holder break out of the holder.

IF this it is not too expensive a repair.

From the description one of the door switches is defective, or a more serious problem has developed.

You need to trace the power feeding the high voltage transfomer. Because the table doesn't turn, it implies that a door switch or safety interlock is the problem.
