Screen displaying a thin white very bright horizontal line.... plz help

Screen display is suddenly starting to show a thin white bright horizontal line in centre of display and remaining screen is blank, just nothing. its started happening when i click on .dat file in my recent documents. i dont know about the content of it and was trying to know that, when it happened..
please help me..

Remove dry solder at Vertical IC if problem not solves replace VERTICAL IC and pf104

My tv sony kv-xa21m61 display too bright and many horizontal lines. no picture

Vertical retrace lines is the problem. Thin white lines runs across the entire screen, at about an inch apart to each other. Check its video output supply voltage. Reduce the screen voltage to a little bit down and check. If you still wish to know more about this fault, check this site. Pull up older posts there.

Take it to a shop as there are a few dozen possible reasons up to and including a bad display panel (entire front screen) which is most possible if line is black..........

CRT Monitor Displays only a thin bright horizontal line

Vertical IC loose connection. Best is to reflux it or resolder. It is in internal circuitry inside the monitor commonly an upside single line IC.

And its a minor repair only. But I recommend it to be serviced by a qualified technician. Inside it are plenty of nasty voltages. It might caught you.
