I need the driver for my ethernet controller
Hi stefyboy - Below is a link where you can download your driver. After you get to the page just make sure it says Windows XP as the operating system. Then scroll down and click on the + next to where it says network. You want the intel 10/100 driver. I've included a few a ways to install it. If your kinda new to this the easiest is the download to desktop method and just remember where it unzipped it to, you can always move it to a driver directory where you can keep all your drivers for the future.

HERE is the driver for your Ethernet card directly from dell. This one is for windows XP. go HERE if you have a different Operating System ans select the correct one. After you select your operating system it should be the only download with the description of "driver" on the list under the networking section.

I need a ethernet controller driver for my dell dimension 4600 can not get on the internet without. Help!!!
And I have no disc
I need to download and burn to a cd
the operating system is windows XP home edition and the ethernet came with my pc thanks
My problem is the same. The Ethernet card light (next to the input cable) indicates that the hardware is OK, but my system can neither find nor install the driver from my ResourceCD (P/N 9G705, Rev. A02). the System routines do not identify my controller manufacturer, or Model.
Does that mean the controller is on the system board?
Can you tell me what driver I should load?

ethernet controller driver somehow does not rollback
I have the same PC (Dell Dimension 4600) with a similar problem...the light right underneath the ethernet cable was green before I reinstalled my Windows XP Home edition but after the installation, it is now yellow and my computer does not recognize that I even have a network card. I tried installing the driver as you described above from the Dell site, but it has not worked. Any other suggestions? Thank you so much for any help you can provide and happy holidays!
I have the same problem, ethernet light is yellow. How can you download a driver if you can't get on the internet. My Dell has Windows XP Professional.
Thanks
I have the same problem, and cannot find the ethernet driver in the Dell website. There are 7 options for driver under Network, none is relevant.
I looked for additional driver, but the Dell web page for Dimension 4600 is badly structured and I simply could not find any of them.
Can someone simply find the driver and send it (or send a link)? I will be glad to get links for the Audio (I have SoundBlaster AudioPCI 64V) and video (I have 32MB nVidia GeForce2 MX).
Thanks!
dude arthnick here i tried your quick fix and its not doin me a bit of good i would like further assistance.
I've installed all the drivers fro an xp disk and the ethernet controller still has the yellow ! next to it.
what type of NIC is in a Dimension 4600 Dell Desktop..
MY COMPUTER CAN'T JOIN THE INTERNET. HAVE YU PLEASE A SOLUTION ABOUT THIS PRBLEM. I AM REALLY TIRED.
My question to those of you who are posting saying you can't get on the Internet to download the driver is this; How can you post to this website if you have no internet access? I am not trying to be mean, but the troubleshooters here need to know this. If you can get online to post, you should be able to get online to download a driver, unless your workplace prohibits downloading. Now with that said, try to find a friend that has internet access or try your public libraries, or local colleges. I have never had a problem downloading the drivers from DELL's website and getting them to work. There may be several entries under the NIC entry. Make sure that you look for and download the ones that say driver and not diagnostic or utility. There may be multiple NIC drivers, download them all. I find it helpful to add what the drivers are for to the end of the DELL names so it ends up something like this: R570105NIC. Also download the other drivers for your machine, you may have to install the chipset driver before your NIC will work 100%.
If you still have the original disks your drivers will be on there. Reload all of them.
Whenever you reload a harddrive it wipes out all of your previous drivers and sometimes Windows does not have an equal driver pre-loaded in it.
Hi stefyboy - What is your operating system please? And is it the ethernet that came with the pc? Answer these please snd I'll hook you right up. Thanks.
