This is happening with ALL Sony NWZ E344 series players. This means only if you have the player's timer and alarm set will it become invalid WHILE connected to the player. There is nothing wrong with your player.

I have a Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 and a USB cord to hook it up to the computer to charge it. I decided to try a USB wall plug-in charger. That all they said to do was to plug the usb plug into a outlet. Then plug in the USB cord where it was spose to charge it just like it would when hooked up to the computer. Will ever since I tried that my Walkman NWZ-E344 has not worked since wont turn on and the computer isn't seeming to recognize it. When plugged into the computer the Walkman sometimes blinks like its trying to do something. How do I reinstall it and get it to work again. I have tried many different things and need help. Someone gave this to me so I don't know how old it is, but it doesn't look old to me.

this player is what i have as well. the only solution for this problem is to press the reset button with a pin needle on the back of the player. Then plug it into USB wall charger. charge it for 3.5 hours. Then when done with the charge plug it into the computer. Be careful with USB chargers. Make sure its says 'for mp3 players' or it might get bricked.
Last things to do is turn the player on. Go to common settings. Then reset to factory. This should help. One note is try not to boot your computer with it plugged in. Built in flash drives are limited on the number of times they can take writes. Reads are unlimited. Windows likes to write information on all connected drives last access time stamps. Which are not visible to the average user.

How do i add photos to my nwz-e344

Hi,

Connect the Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player to your computer using the device's USB sync cable. Wait until your computer detects the MP3 player.

Click the "Start" icon in the taskbar. Click "My Computer."

Double-click "Removable Disk." This will open the root storage directory of your MP3 player, which is where all its files are stored. Locate the "Photos" folder inside this directory.

Drag-and-drop pictures from your computer into the Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player Photos folder: Click on a picture file and hold down the mouse button while moving the file to the Photos folder, then release the mouse button to copy the picture to the folder. You can now view these pictures on your Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player.

If your Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player does not support photo viewing, you can still add pictures to the device. Drag-and-drop the pictures anywhere within the root storage directory. You can transfer the pictures to another computer or any USB-compatible device.

Good luck.

Its a sony walkman NWZ-E344 mp3 when I try to charge it,'connected USB (MTP) the timer and alarm will be invalid' shows up.Eventhough I charge it like three hours it does not charge.

First unplug device from the computer. Go to Device Manager and look for NWz-E344. It may be under Portable Devices or under disk drives. It depends on your OS. When you find it, right click and select Uninstall. After it uninstalls, connect the player to the computer. The computer should run the plug-and-play add hardware to re-add the device.
