Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 only works after install !?!

You can still download the drivers from the links below for your windows
For Windows 7 LifeCam 3.2 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows 7
For Windows XP (32-Bit) LifeCam 3.2 32-bit for Windows XP SP2 or higher (excluding 64-bit)
For Windows XP (64-Bit) LifeCam 2.04 for Windows XP 64-bit
Download the drivers, unplug the camera from the computer and run the setup Lifecam3.22.exe, Install the drivers and follow on-screen instruction, Within the setup it might will prompt you to plug in the camera, connect the camera and the drivers will be loaded automatically and you will need to restart your computer once,

try to instal SP3 for winXP and the try to instal the drivers again.

No, you should upgrade ur OS to XP SP2 or higher to install this

you need to update your system are you using XP? you should install SP1, SP2, and SP3 updates oif not that mean that your system not set for Auto update and you forgot to do it manually...you need to do that from MS download site

go in system set up and then look for boot device configuration and change the option 'boot other device' to no boot and save and exit
