Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 & Logetech Pro 9000

I am running an xp Dell Optiplex GX280 and neither camera works on it, ( the sound and mic do, but not the video). I have the same computer at work and the Microsoft LifeCam I used at home works just fine here. Why won't my computer at home recoginize the camera?

Isn't the device driver on the cd that comes with the cameras? If not, can you be more specific?

Hi there,
You can still download the drivers from the links below for your windows
For Windows 7 LifeCam 3.2 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows 7
For Windows XP (32-Bit) LifeCam 3.2 32-bit for Windows XP SP2 or higher (excluding 64-bit)
For Windows XP (64-Bit) LifeCam 2.04 for Windows XP 64-bit
Download the drivers, unplug the camera from the computer and run the setup Lifecam3.22.exe, Install the drivers and follow on-screen instruction, Within the setup it might will prompt you to plug in the camera, connect the camera and the drivers will be loaded automatically and you will need to restart your computer once,

Just got the Life Cam NX-3000 & the mic doesn't pick up sound.

Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.

the camera has a built in microphone,so after a proper installation you should have the video and mic funtioning.
but in your case, the cam doesn't work, so you have to try first uninstall the driver >> unplug the camera USB port >> then make a restart >> plud the camera back into the usb >> and install the drivers again.
