When you turn on your casio exilim and get a lens error. All you have to do is just turn it off and then back on.The camera does say lens error sometimes but it goes away just by turning the camera off and on. or if not you have to gentle apply pressure as the lens extends (you hear a small pop) and then it's right as rain for a bit. but this lens error happens frequently not only you have experienced this, most of casio cam user have this kind of problem and most of them just give up but not everyone...
Good luck!
The camera has been dropped once i think
the lens section may have some error in assembly
try a hard reset

You can try and go there and do a firmware. Unfortunately you can turn on the cameras very easily while in your pocket etc. You will need to have it serviced if the firmware upgrade doesn't work.
Keep me posted,
Lee
Try gently pulling out lens with your fingernail when you star up the camera
When this happens it means the lens gear has a problem, often it is caused by dust stuck in the lens gear.
Try first removing battery for one minute to reset the camera, this solution rarely works, but it is worth trying.
Try then helping the lens to pull out to full extension using your finger nail.
Try gently tapping the camera at the back with the palm of your hand while lens are extending.
Blow some canned air on lens gear and shutter.
If all the above did not work, then you need to disassemble the lens gear and assemble it back, as something is out of place inside there.
