Hi! I have a problem with my samsung digimax s500. My camera makes worse photos in the MANUAL Mode. They are all dark. It seems that the Exposure compensation is set at -2. The camera shows me that when i press the Shutter button lightly. But i can not reset this in the MANUAL Mode. Wich means that i get only a normal bright photo when my exposure time is set at 8 seconds. Please help me! sincerly Georg Heidfogel

SOURCE: Flash makes my pictures too bright/too dark

u might want to try and put a coffee filter over your flash when you take pictures to make the flash less bright. it sounds really silly but it actually works.

When I take a photo with flash-light everything is o.k. but when flash is out then there is to much exposure. How can I manage that?

Hi

I suspect that your settings need adjusting and one of the quickest ways to do this may be to use the "Exposure Correction" function on the camera. Instructions for this can be found on page 30 of the manual, which you can download from here:

080223130149453_S500_S600_ENG.pdf">http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200802/20080223130149453_S500_S600_ENG.pdf

It is in pdf format so can be saved to your computer and in Adobe Acrobat Reader (later versions) you can use the search function to go to the areas you need. Also you can magnify the pages so that you can read them easily.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Problem with over-exposed photos

My suggestion is to try to reset to factory settings.

You may have accidently affected an exposure timing setting.

Or just try to use it in an automatic mode.

I sounds like a setting, since indoor flash pics are good, as you say.

Instruction manual needed - How do I download my photos onto my computer. I seemed to have lost my instruction manual.

You can download the manual from
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_ia_cd=04010300&prd_mdl_cd=&prd_mdl_name=DIGIMAX+S500

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
