RTO Fillpro Anti-Siphon Toilet Tank Fill Valve Logo

I have a FillPro toilet tank valve and noticed there is a small silent leak from the tank into the toilet bowl. It is trickling very slowly down the side of the bowl. I applied some gentle pressure to the flap valve but it made no difference. I turned off the water supply, flushed the toilet and it continues to leak - even after 40 minutes. Could it be leaking under the seal which is beneath the flap valve? When I rubbed the black seal some of the material come off on my finger. Appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Toilet not filling up with water or sometimes very slowly (trickle)

Toilet tank won't fill up or is slow to fill. The most common reasons for a valve to slow down or no longer fill the tank after the flush are debris issues and the length of time a valve has been in use. ... Valves in use for a period of 7 years or more can have their working parts start to wear out. 1.

Toilet tank leaking

Hello David McInnis,

There are Three basic opportunities for leaks from the classic TOILET TANK DESIGN (separate BASE & top-tank)... around the FLAPPER VALVE alone... Typically the flapper valve & two hold-down screws. These CANNOT be repaired without removing the entire tank. GREAT CARE should be used to not FRACTURE
the mated surfaces by OVER-TIGHTENING.

This is a great time to FRESHEN UP all the
Perishable gaskets & seals... and while I NEVER advocate using any ABRASIVES on gloss finishes... Pumas stone seems to be the FINAL TOUCH in a total renewal
(to REMOVE the built up (very unsightly
TOILET BOWL RING...

Amazon com toilet bowl pumice stone

ADDITIONAL PARTS:
- Water fitting to FILL VALVE (compression fitting).
- FILL VALVE through tank (gaskets)
- Flapper Valve base, gaskets & bowl interface ring

TO Make sure all the surfaces are clean an firmly
positioned and it is not LEAKING anywhere... place
clean dry paper on the floor behind the bowl
(under the tank).

EACH/EVERY drop will leave a mark...
Do NOT over-tighten any fittings!!!

If the WALL VALVE is less than NIMBLE... also a great opportunity to UPGRADE TO A QUARTER TURN
BALL VALVE... A little shopping will find you EXACT VALVE CONFIGURATION...

Hope this helps.

Can I adjust the water level in the bowl?

Hi Jeff:
Two things affect the water level in the bowl:
1) - The maximum height is determined by the siphon. To see if that is where you are, slowly pour water into the bowl. If the level stays the same, that's the maximum height. If it increases, you may be able to "tweak" the trickle tube. (next step)
2) - "Trickle tube" - My term as that's a good description. Lift the lid off the storage tank. If you look into it you will see a vertical tube, open at the top. A small tube should be clipped on to it so that when you flush it, water from the small tube flows into the big tube. That will be "trickling" into the bowl to fill it to the top of the siphon level. Sometimes this small tube can be installed so that it misses the big tube so the bowl does not get filled to the maximum.
- Hope this helps.
Cheers..

Toilet tank to bowl small leak

You need to replace the tank to bowl nuts, washers, and gaskets as well as the flush valve gasket. One word of caution. When installing the new bolts to hold the tank in, place a rubber gasket under the washer inside the tank, and also one on each bolt under the washer underneath the tank. If you omit the one under the tank you may end up cracking the tank when you tighten it down.

I have a new American Standard Cadet 3 that was just installed. After flushing, the water fills into the bowl. However, after several minutes, the water in the bowl slowly drains away and is nearly gone....

Sorry for problem with new toilet.
You say water is leaking out of the bowl?

Toilets have 2 parts:
1) Tank: where water is stored for the flush and is sealed with a flapper.
2) Bowl: where water flushes down.

a) If tank is leaking water, then flapper is suspect. Replace flapper and see if that works.
Lift up flapper and run finger around rim to see if there is a rough spot that would indicate flush valve is defective, and needs replacement.
See typical flush valve

b) If bowl is leaking, that is very unusual and would indicate a crack in the porcelain.

If installer sold you the toilet, it is his responsibility to make good on product.

Toto flapper seems ok but toilet keeps slow trickle into the bowl

The water inlet valve should close completely and stop water from coming into the tank before the water level reaches the "small tube." (This is the overflow tube.)

There may be an o-ring or rubber gasket inside the valve that can be replaced. If not, you would have to replace the water inlet valve.

Toilet keeps filling tank every 10 minutes doesnt sound like its leaking no water around toilet or on floor still flushes and opertes..just water trickles on every 10 minutes or so to top up

If there is no water on the floor then the water is leaking down the main tank drain. Take off the tank lid, turn off the water supply to the toilet. Fllush as much water out as you can. Look at the main drain, sometimes if the flapper valve is connected with a chain, the chain can get caught between the flapper valve and the drain hole, the flapper valve is pliable so it tries to seal around the obstruction but can't always do it. Make sure there is obstruction, that the flapper valve is not out of shape or old and non-pliable and that it lines up with the drain hole and doesn't get "hung up" on anything.

Toilet makes noise as though it has been running and quickly tops up the tank. I cannot take the top off to see what is going on because of the dual flow system.

The flapper is leaking and needs to be replaced. Different toilets have different style flappers, but they all forma seal from the tank to the bowl at the flush valve. When the flapper is lifted, the water rushes into the toilet bowl.

When they develop leaks, the tank slowly drains, (often unoticable) and eventually the fill valve senses the tank is not completely full and "tops off" the tank.

Buy the best quality flapper available, as the cheap low quality ones often leak right out of the package.
