I have a denon 3808 amplifier and it used to read my media library on my desk top fine via a wired network cable. Now I get a message on my amp when I try to connect to my media server saying [PC NAME] Anauthorised User". I have ensured the IP settings are correct on the router and amplifier, that windows media player 11 is sharing media and is connected to the amplifier, that the music folder is shared, that firewall settings are not a problem, and don't know what else to do to get rid of the "unauthorised user" message so I can access my music. Hard wiring is your best solution. I assume you have a working router with a spare port. Once connected, switch off your router, wait 30 secs and re-boot. Log on to your router and look at the connected devices page (assuming you have DHCP enabled so that the Amp is automatically allocated a local address) If your router cannot see the Amp, you may have a faulty ethernet cable. Try plugging the cable into a laptop to see if it is working. If it appears you can reserve the address for the amp.

My manual shows two optical outputs labeled "2 (DVR)" and "3 (VCR)" at the upper right of the rear panel.

It's unclear what will appear there when playing any particular analog source.

I have an AVC-A10SE,very similar. The OSD only works via the monitor out COMPOSITE output, so you will need to connect a cable from your amp from this socket to a composite in (yellow) socket on your tv

I successfully connected the ASD-3W to the Denon 3808CI using the supplied AV/Control cables (dock control, L & R audio, S-video). I used the video and audio input connectors marked VCR (iPod) on the 3808CI and used the default settings. I used the connector marked Dock Control for the control cable. These VCR (iPod) connectors are different than the input connectors marked VCR. I turned the source selector to VCR/iPod Stereo and operated the GUI using the ASD-3W remote control. I was able to play music and video.
