You can reset your Buffalo router by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of it for 4-10 seconds. The IP address to sign into the router will be 192.168.11.1. Hello, the local only means you have connection to the router but the router does not have connection to either the modem. Did you try resetting the modem?
Turn off both devices (router and modem) turn the router on first. Then turn the modem. Wait a minute or so and the router should get the IP from the modem and it should work.
If you still have no luck, it means there's something wrong with either the modem or the actual connection from the ISP.

I couldn't find any instructions for your old router. My only suggestion is try to find a reset switch on it and press it for 15 seconds. If not...buy another NEW router!

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. the easiest way to find the IP address of your access point is to utilize the TRACRT function in command prompt.

so in the case of www.google.com, the command would be "tracert www.google.com" (no quotes)

the computer will then send a packet to google.com, but list the paths to it, you should only be really interested in the first couple addresses.

The first IP address will be your computers, if your computer goes through a switch before the router, the second address will be that of the switch, the third will then be the routers IP address

If your computer goes directly into the router, the second anddress on the list will be the router's IP address.
