Have a chamberlain liftmaster 1/2 hp garage door opener. The remote stopped working. I replaced the battery, didn't work. Cleared the memory on the back of the unit and tried to reset remote, didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks

If you have more than one remote unit and only one stopped working then it is the remote. If this is the only remote you have it could also be the receiver. No way to tell with only one remote.

THERE IS A SQUARE BUTTON ON THE END OF THE UNIT. PUSH AND RELEASE THEN PUSH AND HOLD THE REMOTE BUTTON FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS. THE NEXT TIME YOU PUSH THE REMOTE THE DOOR SHOULD GO.
reset your remotes and your main transmitter after removing and replacing the remote batteries (these use rolling codes that change each time you operate the door) the procedure for doing this is listed on the liftmaster website
Okay...upon further inspection, my left spring has broken in two. Going to call around for some quotes to replace the spring. Thanks for the suggestions.
