Chamberlain 4200C doesnt open or close properly
You did not sync the chain correctly. If you have not touched the travel limits, take chain off sprocket and run door to either up or down position. Put chain back on with trolley in up or down, accordingly. Tension and make final travel adjustments.
Communication to the opener fails. The little
Anytime a door opens and/or closes randomly or doesn’t work consistently I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.
If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote signal.
Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.
The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.
Or a remote in someone’s purse that gets the button pushed by other stuff in the purse.
The test is to disconnect the push button wires at the power unit. If the self operation / interference stops you have located the problem. If you reconnect the wires and disconnect the wire at the wall button this will tell you if the problem is the wire or the button.

UNHOOK THE DOOR FROM THE OPENER AND TRY TO LIFT IT MANUALLY. IT SHOULD OPEN FREELY AND EASILY.
IF NOT
CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS A BROKEN SPRING. IF THERE IS A GAP IN ONE OF THE SPRINGS THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
IF THE SPRING(S) ARE GOOD THE PROBABLY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED.
IF YOU RUN YOUR OPENER THIS WAY FOR VERY LONG YOU WILL STRIP OUT THE GEARS.
IF YOUR DOOR IS WOOD THEY GET HEAVIER IN WET WEATHER - THIS MAY BE WHY IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE IN THE COLD.

How to reprogram whisper drive garage door opener
1)Press and release the "learn button" on the motor unit (the indicator light should glow steady for about 30 seconds
2)While the learn indicator light on the motor unit is glowing, press and hold the button on the remote unit you are using to open the door
3)When the motor unit's light starts to blink, release the button on the hand held remote. The motor unit has now learned the new code.
I hope this works for you!
My Whisper Garage Door has been doing fine for
If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each one is lit and not flashing. If you cannot get them to come on you have bad sensors.
We have a 7 ft 6 inch garage door and we want to
You seem to fall into a category that Chamberlain doesn't quite address. They say their openers will work on a standard 7 foot door and then when they list their extension kits they are for 8 or 10 foot doors. You can contact them with your question at:

My garage door will open about a foot then stop.
2 possible problems.
1 might be your door springs need to be adjusted causing a more than normal load on the opener. Test this by disengaging the opener and open the door by hand. A properly balanced door should only require minimal effort. If you struggle to open it manually then the torsen springs need adjusted. Caution- they are under high torque and unless you have the knowledge and tools required don't attempt this yourself.
2 the open force needs to be adjusted on the opener. there are 4 adjustment screws located on the opener. Two are for travel distance-one for each direction. The other two are for force adjustment, one for each direction.
My house was prewired for a garage door opener
Usually the installers will make a not at the end of the wires so that the dry wallers wont dry wall over the wires (it hapens all the time with dry wallers).I would strip off bolth wires by the garage doors.Inside the wire their will be either four little wires or two little wires strip them as well.On one garage door twist two of the wires together so that the wires contact each other. On the other garage door where the other wire comes out of the wall strip the wires (if you have four wires coming out of it you will have to use a multi meter and connect the ends of the probes of the multi meter to the same two collers of wire that you twisted together on the other door.If you have only two wires coming out of it then do the same thing you just wont have to worry about which two collers you are using.I.e. I twist red and black together on one door then I connect my probes to the red and black on the other door.Using the resistance option or the tone option on the multi meter you should be able to tell if this is a single line like I think it is.If it is a single line then the meter (if on the resistance option will read anything other then o.l.).O.l. standing for open line. (If on the tone option then you will hear a tone). If this is one line then you will just have to go to the hole in the ceiling and cut the wire in half using daulfins or barell conectors and a little wire you should be able to extend you wires.(I asume on the door opener their are two different terminals to connect two different doors).DONT pull on the wires. This will only make things worse.per state law the installers have to staple their wires to the studs and pulling on these wires can lead to them breaking off in the walls or them shorting out.It is comon for a low voltage electrican to only use one wire when installing two doors close together they just forgot to leave a little extra wire in the hole in the ceiling and then cut the one wire into two sepret wires in that same hole.
Dominator garage door opening system - no remote and remains open
Try this first before calling a repair company. When the door is finished moving and it is open release the handle that disengages the door from the actuator and then close the door by hand. then re engage the handle and operate the door. If everything works fine after that, there is no need to call for a repair.
