Hot side panels

Hello Robert - From what you have described, it seems like you may be referring to the perimeter hot tube. It is normal to be warm to the touch; however, since it may feel hot to you, I would suggest verifying that you have the proper clearances around the refrigerator. You can refer to your owner's guide for those specifications. If you do not have an owner's guide, you can download one at the manufacturer site. If the clearance is fine, you may need to clean the condenser coils. As part of routine maintenance, you can remove the toe grille (located at the foot of your refrigerator) by unsnapping the sides and lifting outward towards you. Now, using an extended vacuum attachement and condenser cleaning brush, remove dust buildup from condenser coils on left side underneath refrigerator. Cleaning condenser coils typically resolves this issue. But, if clearance is fine and the condenser coils are free from dust and you are still feeling too much exterior heat, you may need to check with a local service tech to determine what else could be causing this issue.

Unit get hot on side

Freezers have their condenser coils in the outside, near the sides and all wrapped around. This part gets warm/hot during operation. The evaporator coils is around the inside wall, right next to the food. This coil gets cold when the freezer runs. It's a fairly efficient way to route these coils, and they don't need to have a fan this way.

So this is normal.

I have an upright Frigidaire freezer. The outsides (left and right) are hot to the touch. Is it a problem?

No. Instead of exposed coils on the back side, many (most) freezers place the condenser coils near the outer wall of the freezer to disipate the waste heat removed from inside the freezer. It will not be as noticable when the freezer is not running, and is completely normal.

The sides of my Kenmore freeze get very hot (138 F)

This is normal. The refrigerant lines run through the sides and get hot.

Nor-Lake t3000 freezer - door HOT

The door frame heater is probably damaged and grounded. Unfortunately, it is still energized causing less than the entire heater being utilized which will cause an extremely hot condition. I would look at replacing it. It is a pain to do but with some patience, it can be done.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Kenmore Chest Freezer

Believe it or not, but it is normal. Especially when just turned on. As the internal temp. gets colder so will the temp. on the side get cooler.

Freezer is freezing but the outer wall are extremly hot

This is a normal condition.  The condensor coils are in the cabinet and their job is to remove heat which is why it is hot.  You will want to make sure the freezer isn't in a tight spot where air from the room can't flow across it.  Without good air flow it will become too hot and not cool properly and lead to the compressor failing too soon.
