I have a Kicker Solo-Baric, L7, 12 inch subwoofer making a scratching noise. The cone is fine but the inside is not. Can i get this repaired? Kicker said no. This is a $250-300 sub. I hate to just throw it away.

The bad news is that your voice coils could be fried up, basically mechanical failure. Might as well buy a new sub because replacing a voice coil means you got to rip the whole sub apart, very complicating.

In a sealed box ; when i press down on the cone i hear scratching. is this bad? (the speaker still plays) i have been powering it with a kenwood kac-9103D at 2 ohms 900ish watts

I could be getting a problem. If you push down on the very center it shouldn't make any scratching sounds. But if you press down off center you might be rubbing the voice coils along the magnet and thats the scratching you are hearing. When the speaker becomes hard to press down that is when its about to go.

Hello, i have a kicker l7 15 and the voice coil has seperated from the cone. any advice?

Well, you have 3 options really,

  1. Send it in to your local sound shop for repairs.
  2. Replace the subwoofer.
  3. Attempt repairs with super strong glue.

Hi there I have a problem with my kickers. Subwoofer l7 15" is blow,I was wondering if there is a repair kit avaible for it or not?

The only Kicker woofer that has a replacement cone/assembly is the SoloX woofers. All of those have what Kicker calls it's SPARE which is a field replacement assembly. They're designed for SPL competitions.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE A BLACKENED COIL ON A 15 INCH L5? THE AUDIO REPAIR GUY TOLD ME HE DIDN'T KNOW IF YOU COULD REPLACE THE COIL, SAID I PLAYED IT TOO LOUD.

no - the coil cannot be replaced on any kicker speakers except the SOLO X
It is a proprietary part. Even kicker will not repair a speaker that is out of warranty.
You have a doorstop now (or passive radiator).
i am an authorized kicker dealer and get MANY questions about L5 and L7s.
I have (4) 15" L7s in my garage - hoping - someday - they will release spare cone assemblies. But for right now - they are displays only.

This will help you :)

Below is a link to the subwoofers manual where is clearly states how to wire it all up, it includes both the 2ohm DVC and 4 ohm DVC models.

well you can bring it into the place you bought it.. or a place where they sell kicker brand subs.. and ask them for a fix..
they'll either order you another one or.. they'll send it to be fixed.. depends on what it is(note) kicker L7 is made to be taken apart and fixed
