How can I ret the phone or do whatever I need to to get the new message light to stop flashing. I have pulled the batteries, listened and deleted all messages, cleared and deleted the memory and CID, unplugged it and yet the "New Message" light keeps flashing. help?
Don't know about other models, but I just called RCA small business
phone support (800-511-3180) to find out how to clear the message light
indicator on my 25210 2-line cordless phone when it continues to blink
but there is no message.
All you have to do is hold down the delete button for a few seconds and
it will clear. Hope this helps someone else from going batty!
You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system takes messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
~*~*~ SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED! ~*~*~ After talking to both ATT and RCA with no success...I figured it out myself. ~*~*~ Plug your phone line into the "DATA PORT" on the back of the unit. Slide the "DATA PORT" switch to whichever line is showing it has a message. Press the corresponding Line# button on the front of the phone. (you should hear the dial tone) Dial your voice mail number. Let it answer, (enter your passcode if needed), then hang up! - That's it! example: MSG Waiting:L2 - I plugged the phone line into the Data Port and moved the data port switch to "2". I pressed LINE 2 on the front of the phone, dialed my voice mail number, it answered, I put in my passcode. (It said that I did not have any new voice mails), then hung up! That's it! Message Indicator light off!!! Repeat for each line that shows a (false) message waiting. ~~~Don't forget to move your phone line back into it's correct port on the back of your phone.~~~
You will use "clear amw all ***" with *** being your extension number that won't go out. This will clear the status on the phone switch which is keeping the message light on.
I had the same problem and tried everything that you did. What happened to me is that I transferred to a new number with AT&T and when I did that is when the message light stayed on.
I finally got hold of someone that knew what the problem was. AT&T has a Message Indicator Light Service as part of your Voicemail Account. Once they added that service, the light turned off.
Contact your telephone provider and see if they have a Message Indicator Light, Visual Indicator Service, not just the stutter-tone feature.
I do not deal with your system but I see similar problems in other phone systems. This MAY be what is happening...
The message light can be a voice mail indicator OR someone on another phone in the building can leave you an intercom message (no voice system used or required). In those cases you need to return the message by pressing the MSG button, this should make the phone ring that left you the message in the first place. That phone needs to be answered to return the message and cause your light to stop flashing.
