My medion desktop model pc mt 14 wont switch on from the mains

Whenyou plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, wherethe plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, then Pressand Hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the powercord back in and hit the power button to see if it boots.

Maybeyour memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Removethe Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set thechip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you knowthe memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and tryrebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put theother chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just toverify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the openmemory chip slot and try booting.
Maybeyour power supply is bad. Sometimes there is enough power to make thepower light come on but not enough power to make the fan turn on or harddrive spin.

Just upgraded Vista to Windows 7. Now when computer boots, it repeatedly beeps (so many times I can't count them), then asks which OS I want to start with. Only Windows 7 is listed. It starts fine.

Hello, if your computer peeps on startup it could be that your keyboard is stuck somehow thats why it beeps, it is sending and interupt request. try checking your keyboard to be sure its not stuck. happy new year

Spilled soda on eeepc 1000ha cleaned and dried interior but now will not complete boot and makes a continus beeping sound

Liquid damage is usually fatal. It maybe that the beeping sound is a keyboard key that is stuck on. It sounds that, at the very least, you will need the keyboard replacing, but I wouldn't like to say that was all. Don't get your hopes up!

Laptop wont stay on longer than approx 3 seconds. How do I check the switch?

if the switch at least starts the laptop.. then it is not the switch

check that you can boot the pc with the battery pulled out of the laptop and the power supply plugged in...

if this works then you need a new battery

if this does not work.... then the motherboard or the power adapter plug maybe the issue.. is the plug on the side of the laptop solid... or sloppy fitting..

if solid then the motherboard cpu and memory are the suspected components next..

is there beep noises during boot for the three seconds that occur???

Laptop amkes a beep sound but doesn't boot

Hi Saniple, more than likely those are beep codes and should give us an idea of what is going on. Typically there is a specific pattern of long and short beeps. If you can identify them for us we can start the troubleshooting process

Laptop keeps beeping and not turning on

I think you may mean the Hard Disk light not floppy, although, if you have a floppy disc drive, check there's no floppy disc in it as it will stop the boot up. But if it's not the floppy, and the hard disc drive light stays on, possibly the hard drive is faulty, maybe damaged sectors. The other maybe is a possible memory fault, although the beep codes can only be identified if you know the motherboard make. Your rating are important.
