Can't get wnce2001 netgear adapter to work. Also have netgear wnr2000 router. Push and connect, I do have all green lights, but samsung tv states service is unavailable due to network interference.

I have a couple of questions

1. What gateway are you pinging?
2. From what device are you sending the ping?

If you are trying to ping the gateway on the modem/router provided by your internet service provider then you will not get a ping response, this is because it's configured not to respond.

1. Unplug the router for 1 minute
2. Clear the browser cookies, temp folders,history.
3. reboot the computer.
4. Ping the router
5. log into the router and check the status page.

You should not need any software to connect to the router. Use connection wizard in VIsta to setup the internet connection

Configure your computer's network adapter to use DHCP and make sure DHCP is enabled on the Netgear.
