My wife and I took 220 colour photos over this weekend. All is as expected apart from seven about halfway through which are black and white except for small areas of colour. e.g. the grass is green but everything else is b&w or blue sky, green grass, b&w lake. Any thoughts, thanks in advance.
Steve
Sounds like you (inadvertently?) had the Color Accent Mode turned on (an icon which shows an eyedropper with an A next to it), which is available on the same menu where you select Manual Mode.
When you press the Func/Set button, with the icon in the top left corner highlighted, along the bottom you will see the options available, including the Color Accent Mode, any of which are selectable by using the left/right arrows and pressing the Func/Set button again.

I don't know how to refill them myself but just took them to be refilled and then my printer would not recognize them till I put a barcode sticker back on so don't get rid of them.
I think your model is the Ixus 860 IS (SD870 IS in North America) but it's no big deal really.
Sounds like you should probably just reset all the settings back to default and start over, you never know what you may have changed that you don't want changed.
Most likely all you did was decrease the time before the camera goes into power save mode and turns off the LCD to save battery power, but I think starting over is probably a good thing.
Good luck and hope you enjoy the camera: Darntoothysam com (digital camera parts and repair)
Hey thaze, According to the manufacturer you need to press the playback button, which looks like a triangle pointing to the right. Next you need to hold down the func. /set button, and press the menu button. Next you need to use the up/down arrows, or the right/left arrows to choose the desired language and then press the func. /set button. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead. Use Us.
If you have PhotoShop,
1. Go to Image and duplicate your photo
2. Go to Image, Adjustments, Hue & Saturation. Make a few changes and watch the preview till the image appeals to you.
This works for me and my Ixus. Other imageware may work similarly
Thank you old marine.
I should read the manual shouldn't I?
Or possibly blame my wife!!
Thanks again.
