how can i turn ON the date stamp of my cano sd750
To get the date/time to be on your photos while taking the picture so you don't have to use the software later do this:
When in the mode to take pictures, press the round "Function Set" button and change the recording pixels to "Postcard 1600 X 1200". "Postcard" is the only setting that will allow the time/date stamp to be recorded on the picture.
Then press the "Menu" button and scroll down to "Date Stamp". You can select "Date", "Date & Time" or "Off". You can only do this when your pictures are set to the "Postcard" mode.

I used the camera for hours last night, haven't had a problem with it yet. This morning, it will not turn on. I've tried with the memory card out, in, recharged the battery, etc... Help, help, help!
These models are notorious for defective mother boards. First check the tiny switch inside the battery compartment for physical damage. If the plastic piece does not pivot freely or is partially broken you can pop this black plastic piece out of the switch with a pin or needle very easily. The camera will power on ok without it. I have quite of number of these models with defective mother boards and Canon service will not give me any help whatsoever. If enough people complained perhaps they would issue a recall notice.

my canon ixus 75 is not turning on properly, the zoom lense is stuck out and wont retract. when i turn it on it says "Lens error, reset camera", how would i go about doing this? cheers.
The manual states that the battery door was opened during use. Close the battery door and turn it on and off. You may need to push it closed to make sure the battery connections are made.

when i plugged my camera to the usb "communication error" appeared. help.
If your SD memory card contains more than 1,000 images, the camera will display "Communication Error". Use a card reader (if available) to import your images into the computer, or see about having some CD's made at a photofinishing business.

Hi,
When I turned on my Canon Powershot SD750 today, the display screen is black. All of the functions work (I can take a picture - although it comes out black, change the scene, etc), but nothing shows up in the LCD screen. It is almost like there is a lens cap on the lens (which obviously isn't true). The camera has not suffered any trauma, and it worked fine yesterday. Do you know a quick fix to make an image appear? Thanks
Dear All,
I solved my problem for Canon Ixus 750, i gently tap 3-4 times the camera in my sofa. I think the shuter was stack! Was stupid i know but is works perfect now!

okay, so when I tried to upload pictures from my camera to the computer it said "communication error" on the screen. Couple of days ago, my sister had used a different USB cordaccidentally(have no clue how she pulled that off!) to upload pictures. And, so when it wasn't working with the canon USB cord tried the one she used, which is a sony USB cord. That didn't work either! Heeeelp please. Is there a way to reset the camera or something?
I had the same problem. My problem was that there were more than 1,000 images stored on the memory card. Once I deleted some of the images from the camera memory card, I was able to download pictures again.

how to make date stamp option ON in Canon IXUS70 Model
Hi there, my name is Rob and I can help you.
To put the date stamp in a picture do this:
1) Make sure you have the correct date and time set in the camera. To do this:
Push the function/set button. Press the directional button down to select Date and Time.
Push the directional button to the right then down or up to set the date and time. Then press the function/set button to save it.
Then:
2) Push the selector button up to the camera icon, and press function/set. Scroll down to Date Stamp.
Scroll right to turn on the Date and Time Stamp, then up or down to until it says On.
Press function/set when your done.
That is your solution. Remember once the date/time stamp is embedded in a picture, you can't take it out.
Let me know if you have any further questions, and thanks for coming to FixYa. Please feel free to rate my solution a fixya.

can i use my canon digital ixus 75 camera as a web cam?
Many people ask if they can use their digital camera as a webcam. In
the early days of digital imaging, it made sense to dual-function a
camera because a webcam was a serious investment. However, webcams are
now so inexpensive that manufacturers are not considering this
functionality important in their digital cameras. In fact even the word
'webcam' creates the impression of bad imaging, so associating this
function with a camera actually makes the camera seem 'cheap'.
Your camera is actually quite a new, and a nice camera. It doesn't make
a lot of sense for Canon to make it work as a webcam, because it's
a waste. And in any case, you'd expect a webcam to be powered by a wall
outlet or the USB... but most modern cameras like yours don't come with
adapter-power, they have battery chargers instead. And they take too
much current to use the USB power. By the time they'd added the extras
to make it work properly as a webcam, you could BUY a USB webcam
separately.
Anyway, back to your question... so, can your camera be used as a
webcam? Probably not, but here's how
you can tell. Make sure you've installed all the software you can find
for your camera, power it up, and plug it in. Windows will tell you if
it has a webcam function. If it's a webcam, then it will appear in "My
Computer" as a device, right along with all the disk drives. To be
sure, go to your control panel and select "Scanners and Cameras". Is
your camera listed? If not... it's not a webcam.
In the unlikely event that you have a 'video in' on your computer, and
that your camera has a 'video out' then you can follow the instructions
on
the sony site ("how to use a digital still camera as a webcam");
but most people will not have that yellow 'video in' connection.
Sorry this wasn't the news you really wanted.
