How do I transfer program files from the hard drive (PRELOAD C) to the iomega external hard drive- the send to command does not include going to it

The best solution would be to install the programs in that disk - but that would imply that the disk should stay connected permanently.
The next option is to save them in C then manually cut/paste them in the external disk.
The most simple solution is to set the external hard disk as the default Save location and if this is no possible then navigate to it thru My Computer every time you save a file.

Well you need to export them from your e-mail program weather if thats is outlook express or any other, just export them, and transfer it to your file storage. Thats it! =)

Format your hardrive for Mac OS:
Go to Disk Utilities under the go menu in your finder. Select the external drive and click on the erase tab. Clikc erase again and it formats the drive. You can now copy files onto the drive.

Iomega 500 gb hard drive: large file transfers

The default format for the IOMega drive is FAT32. This format will work on all versions of Windows, as well as Mac OS9 and above. Unfortunately, FAT32 can't handle files larger than 4gigs. If you want to use larger files, you're going to have to remove all the files from your IOMega drive and use your computer to format it to NTFS (Windows 2000/XP/Vista) or HFS+ (Mac OS9/X).
