If the engine is a 2 stroke the fuel must be mixed with 2 stroke oil at the ratio recommend by the engine manufacturer. If the ratio of fuel to oil isn't followed the engine will not have enough lubrication and will seize
Two-stroke oil with a 50:1 (Gas:Oil) mix ratio is required for the Husqvarna 125B leaf blower. Using the wrong oil or improper mixture ratio can drastically affect the performance of the leaf blower.
Most 2 stroke engines.......99% now use 50 to 1 mix in the fuel. Others are close to this ratio.
Older....over 20 to 30 years old ........that may have had 20 to 1 ....or other ratios run happily on a 50 to 1 ratio using the newer 2 stroke oils. And......BONUS.......they have increased engine life because of reduced semi burnt oil build up caused by "too much oil".......particularly around the rings on the piston(s) etc.
