The DW959 is not serviceable like other models. To replace brushes you would have to disassemble the motor by bending the metal housing and then try to bend it back.

Is it a torx or allen head screw that holds the keyless chuck on a Dewalt Cordless Drill model # dw959. If it is a torx, what size is it ? Is it a right or left handed thread ?

don't know the sizes for the screw but it is the wrong way threads. when you get that out you need a very large allen wrench in the chuck and tight. lay the drill body on a work bench and hit the allen wrench hard to break it loose. it unscres normally.

Unable to get to brushes on DeWalt DW959 drill type 1.

the brushes are made to slide into the side of the motor. gently pull up on them. Also I would recommend that you go to Dewaltservicenet.com and type in your model number for a parts explosion and part number for replacement brushes. Let me know
