Hi.

There is a service bulletin. The problem is usually caused by a defective DM power board. Before replacement, the power board must be tested. Rather than replacing the whole board, the repair job is done testing and replacing at component level.

Here from Mitsubishi Bulletin:

Chassis V21 (this TV): Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B03, C9B13, C9B14, C9B17 and C9B18 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM Power PCB located within the DM Assembly. If they are bad, replace them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).

Here Service Manual - Chassis V21

Here Tv Repair Kit (not necessarily the cure, parts must be tested, the repair involves testing and soldering and must be done by a trained person).

Regards.

Ginko.

Green timer light won't stop flashing on mitsubishi ws 73711.

the green light blinking is normal if set has been unplugged--when set is plugged back it should blink for about 70 seconds and then go out--then you can try to turn it on---it is the DM unit inside the set booting up.

If the light just blinks and never stops you have likely bad caps in the DM unit---there are kits available for that.

The other possible reason is that so called reset switch may be bad--fairly easy way to find that out and it is more common than you would think, let me know if you have questions.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 55711 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Unplugged my Ws-55711 TV to move it to another room so the carpet could be cleaned. When I moved it back and plugged it in, the green light kept blinking for more than 60 seconds. I unplugged the TV for...

Open up the front, look under the right side picture tube. Look for puddle of oil on signal board. If you see this, it has bad picture tube & signal board. Not a good repair.

Will not power on

There are 4 capacitors in the Digital Module that are swollen on the top. These need replace with 680mfd/16v capacitors. If this does not fix then replace digital module. The green led will flash when first plugged in. It's rebooting. Then after it stops flashing you can turn it on.
