Possible that the negative feedback amplification is not compensating to the preamp.
The cartridges must match with the preamp so that the full frequency response is received.
If you can add along an equaliser to you phono path on way to the amplifier , the compensation can be set up to the room accoustics and taste.
Alteration of the input impedance to the amplifier with a network can also help but an equaliser might be tthe best for you

Testimonial: "the negaive feedbak amplification comes from my turnable? can i change something to my sl-1210 mk2 to solve my problem? thanks a lot!"

Why is the right side of my Technics turntable dropping out and giving me a ground hum?

It sounds like a bad connection to the cartridge, perhaps even the cartridge itself.

I recently bought this turntable used. I am trying to connect it to a Sony receiver with a phono input, but no sound comes out when connected. Does this turntable require a pre-amp or something?

If the unspecified Sony has a "PHONO" input you should be good to go. What model?

"PHONO" is the only designated connection on an audio device that is literal and exclusive. Nothing but PHONO will work right on it and old-school turntables would require it to preamplify and frequency-correct the tiny current produced by a Phono cartridge. Look up RIAA equalization.

If your unit doesn't have a PHONO connection AND your TT doesn't have a self-contained preamp you will have to get a Phono Preamp to connect between the TT and any Line Level input, like Aux.

Poor low frequency

Nope, the circuit boards have nothing to do with transmitting frequencies. There are only 4 items on the Technics 1200 that transmit frequencies...

1) Stylus/Needle
2) Cartridge
3) Tonearm
4) RCA Cables/Leads

If you've already replaced 3 and 4, the problem lies with either 1 or 2. Or the RCA cables you replaced were not done properly, or you used poor quality cables. Double check the work.
