You might get lucky. I've seen it happen where the enclosure board is the problem. The external enclosures are cheap enough. Make sure you get the right one. In your case it is more than likely a SATA drive. You can also try replacing the board on the drive itself. Try communicating with WD to see if they can help. If the drive did not experience a head crash you should be in good shape. Try youtube if you feel like taking the drive apart yourself. As always, the data is always more valuable than the hardware.
