Western Digital External hard drive not appearing
1st dismantle the hdd and change sata to usb adapter. Get cheap on ebay. Certainly, most wd makes hdd motherboard with usb straight away, but still worth to try. BUT, before all check if your pc usb is working, check with mouse or smth. If so, then try change cable. After cable try dismantle that hdd and change mentioned adapter. If none of these work, you then have a lesson, never western digital, seagate only1
I can not initiliaze wd
try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use this
data recovery software to recover your files.

Drivelock hdd bay password lockout
There seems to be a solution but it involves loosing all your data. It involves removing the drive to another computer, formatting it and uninstalling then reinstalling the firmware. Any solutions I've read about remain the same.
I bought a USB 500
this problem occured for me once.
one of the best software that i have ever seen is "PC Tools File Recover"
you can download it freely from pctools.com
it have a powerful deep search for scanning and recovering lost or deleted files.
Wd passport not working
I am sorry to say this but by the sound of it you have accidentally reformatted your drive. The only thing you could do at this point is to try to recover your lost data which I'm afraid my not be able to be recovered depending on if the drive is solid state or not and if it has encryption on it. My suggestion is to try and recover your data using a data recover tool such as helix.
I hope this has helped.
Thank you,
Norse
