Uniden DCX150 1.9 GHz 1-Line Cordless Expansion Handset Logo
Posted on Sep 11, 2010

I just bought another handset (DCX150) to use with my Uniden DECT1580 phone and cannot get it registered for use. The phone is completely charged but after holding down the # key for 30 seconds (as instructed in the manual), I keep getting the "registration failed" message.

I had the same problem with the same equipment and I found this on the web. It worked well for me.
* Remove the base unit's phone from its cradle.
* Unplug the power from the base unit.
* press and hold the FIND button on the base unit, then, while continuing to hold down the FIND button, plug in power again. The CHARGE light should then be flashing. You can release the FIND button.
* press and hold the # (pound) key on the accessory phone you are attempting to register to the base unit and hold this phone OVER and NEAR the cradle/charging prongs until the phone goes through the registration process. (again, don't set the accessory phone in the unit, but just hold it near the unit).

Good luck!

Right on. After hours of frustrating attempts this worked the first time. Unuden should update their owens manuals.

This process worked for me in registering my new DCX150 accessory phone with my DECT1560 base. My issue was 100% as described and this solution worked as described on the first attempt this day of 9/17/2011. I purchased this accessory phone from Walmart.com using their free shipping method site to store. Thanks much.

Uniden,Model # DECT1580 Access Detailed Owner's Manual

Several manuals for the Uniden DECT1580 are available from Uniden support: http://www.uniden.info/download/ . The product documentation page is http://www.uniden.info/download/index.cfm?s=DECT1580 . The direct link to the English version of the owner's manual for one model in the series is http://www.uniden.info/download/ompdf/DECT1580-2om.pdf . This version came with 2 handsets; it is also sold with one handset or up to 4 handsets.

I hope this helps.

HOW DO U CONNECT THE HANDSET TO THE BASE.ALREADY TRIED THE REGISTER BUTTON,DID NOT WORK.IT CAME WITH NO DIRECTIONS,WE BOUGHT AT A FLE MARKET FOR 5 DOLLARS.

Are you sure of the model number? The D1680 should register the handset when you put it on the base for 30 seconds. (You should see Handset Registering followed by Registration Complete.) Then press Talk/Flash to check for dial tone. On this model if the registration fails, charge the battery (or replace the battery and then charge that). Then repeat the registration.
The manual for the Uniden D1680 is available here: http://news.uniden.com/pdf/D1680om.pdf .

For other Uniden phones, like the DEC1060, you need to navigate through the handset menus to find the Handset Registration command. Then press and hold the Register Handset (Find Handset) key on the base for 3+ secondsThen the base and handset will synch. (Low batteries could interfere with the process.)

For the D3288, you access the base menu for Register Accy and then press and hold # on the handset for 30+ seconds. (You will see Registering followed by Registration Complete.)

Additional Uniden cordless phone manuals are available here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl .

I hope this helps.

(with a flea market phone, my first suggestion is to try a new battery for the handset. They only have a given number of recharge cycles and you do not know the history. However, sometimes the chargers do fail and a new battery will not work. In that case, the phone should be replaced. It isn't worth the cost of out-of-warranty repairs.)

My Uniden 1560-3 has out of range on all handsets but one. I only have a dial tone on one handset. Please advise how I can correct this problem

Reset the hand sets that are out of range by doing the following:

1) Press and hold END and # for at least five seconds.
2) Move the cursor to select Base Unavailable and then press Menu/Select.
3) Select the base which you want to de-register from, and then press Menu/Select. Base Unavailable appears.
4) Move the cursor to select Yes, and then press Menu/Select. You hear a confirmation tone,

(For DCX150 handsets)
5) Place the handset in the base cradle for about thirty seconds. Handset Registering will appear in the LCD.
6) When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset
ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

(For DCX200 or DCX300 handsets)
5)Disconnect the base AC adapter. Then press and hold find while you reconnect the adapter. Keep holding
find until the charge LED starts to blink.
6)When charged, registered handsets display a handset ID number. Handsets that have not been registered display:
7) On the handset, press and hold # until the handset beeps and displays Handset Registering.
8) When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset
ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

Purchased addt'l handset to work with my CEZAI2998. It has a corded handset in the base and an accessory handset with charger. Needed another accessory handset; purchased EZX290 but can't get it to...

Hi,

The CEZAI2998 does allow up to a total of 6 handsets, but your issue is that the EZX290 handset is not one that will function with that system. I have listed below the compatible handset models for that Uniden unit and as you can see the EZX290 is not supported. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, hopefully you can exchange it for a compatible handset. Good luck!!

EJ

Compatible with select Uniden handsets
Including models DCX150, DCX200, DCX210, DCX290, DCX300 and DWX207 for wide-ranging compatibility.

I have a new Uniden cordless phone. The handsets

You can downlaod the manual from uniden in pdf form.
http://www.uniden.com/products/productdetail.cfm?product=DECT1580-4

the -4 or -5 refers to how many handsets you set. The 1580 is the actual model number.

To register I think all you do is place them on the master pad once then on their own charger stations. On some models they come all done so you just plug them in charge them up and use them.
