Samsung DMR77LHS Tall Tub Dishwasher Logo

I own a Samsung Dishwasher DMR77LHS. I get an SE (drainage) error code right after the Wash cycle. I checked all of my drain lines and no problems. I even hooked up directly to my garbage disposal. And yes the plug has been removed. During the wash cycle the machine appears to be working fine, right after the wash cycle ends the machine drains very slowly and the SE error code comes on and the dishwasher stops running altogether. I'm wondering because of the slow drainage that the computer times out? Maybe a new circuit board is the answer, maybe a new pump. But. How much $$$ do you spend on a poor product? Better to go with a proven winner. Any suggestions?

Most likely a pump fault if no external water leak.

SOURCE: How to knock out garbage disposal plug

Turn off the power source to the garbage disposal. Take the drain hose from the dishwasher off the connector going to the disposal (if connected). Insert a flat blade screwdriver in the drain hose fitting and tap a few times with a hammer. The plastic plug will pop off inside the garbage disposal. Reach inside from the top of the disposal to retrieve the plastic plug. Sometimes you have to use a little force to tap the plug out. Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: garbage disposal (water won't drain out of sink standing water)

There should be an overload button somewhere on the bottom of the disposal motor. This is to prevent the motor from trying to run if the chopping blades are jammed, otherwise the motor would burn up.

First, try to move the blades with something like a broom handle. Using a flashlight you should be able to see the blades. there's probably three of them. try to make sure each one can move even a little bit.

Next, with the disposal switch in the off position, find the overload button and push it in, Then turn on the disposal switch and see if it runs. If the overload button trips off again, repeat the above steps until the blades can turn.

Let me know how this goes. Loringh

How to fix samsung dishwasher code se

The code is 5E
If your dishwasher is displaying error code 5E, It can be caused by a kinked drain hose.
If the drain hose is kinked, there will be an excessive amount of water in the bottom of your dishwasher after a cycle has been completed.
In order to access the drain hose you need access to the back of the dishwasher. If your dishwasher was recently installed, contact the installer to move the dishwasher and inspect the drain hose.
If the drain hose is not kinked, but your dishwasher is still not draining, service is required.

SE code on Samsung DW80F800 . is it the same response as given for the Samsung DMR77lhs

Newsflash!!!

Found the problem, after having this error several times, replacing parts, and even redirecting my drain line...

Read the owner's manual, and it says to use .5 ounces of dishwasher liquid. That is only 1 tablespoon, or 15 milliliters.

There are even lines in the fill box inside the dishwasher, 15 milliliters, and 25 milliliters... 15 milliliters is less that 1/3 capacity, and we were filling it all the way up.

So... The problem was too much soap, leading to too many suds, the air in those suds lowered the density of the water so much it messes with the sensors monitoring flow.

Samsung Dishwasher model DW80F800UWS with Error code 5E or "SE" error code.

The 5E error code on this Samsung dishwasher means a drain error. Most often this is caused by a clogged drain hose, or some foreign object getting caught in the drain pump impeller. But it can also mean you have a bad ECS sensor. If this is Greek to you, then you should probably call a professional dishwasher repairman.

Se code

You're on the right track - SE error code on a Samsung dishwasher means "drain error". If you can get to it, try removing the drain pump. Chances are there is something in it that is blocking or impeding the impeller, or may be stuck at that end of the drain hose (where the check-valve is located.) Good luck!

I'm getting an error SE on my samsung dishwasher during quick wash setting. Can it be fixed?

Thanks for providing the full model number. That helps a lot.
I am assuming error code must be "5E". If so then that implies drain error.

something is clogging the drains. Clean filters etc as per the owner manual and also check the drain hose for kinks. (maybe getting pushed to the back of kitchen cabinet) . If you do not have it download from this site.

Samsung error E5

I don't know about a E5 error; are you sure it's not a 5E error? That means a drain error or "water not draining" error. Check the drain pump and drain hose for an obstruction. If that's okay, and the dishwasher drains water, then you probably have a bad ECS sensor.

My Samsung dishwasher model # DMR77LHS makes this terrible grinding noise when it is initially turned on & then 2-3 more times through the cleaning process.

Mine make a grinding noise also when the wash cycle starts. I had a repair guy over fixing my fridge and he said it was the washer motor. My machine has only been in use for 1-2 yrs. Other owners say that the tabs on the top rack break off and get lodged in the machine. hope this helps a little.

Got an HE-1 code, and dishwasher seems like it will take on water, and then does nothing. Does the water temp have to be at a certain hot temperature for it to function?

had the same problem with this piece of **** dishwasher. hold down the buttons to cancel cycle and drain dishwasher (think it's third and fourth buttons from the right) and try running it again. this solved my problem.

Seems some small plastic parts are inside the drainage area making noise. Dishwasher reads SE error code.

Check the upper basket mounts. I've noticed mine has been losing tabs. I've got an order in to get this fixed. Also had a part break in the back of the dishwasher that acts as a guide for the upper basket, it's part of the spray assembly. Hope this helps
