My acer aspire t671 has suddenly stopped booting up and just shows the acer logo screen and it wont let u go into bios or anything could u please help me
Dear f1at3r1c
Righteo then, you should be starting by resetting your BIOS, and you can do this by removing the outer casing o the PC tower. Once yoiu have done this you then need to find the jumper that clears the CMOS/ BIOS. Now if you are somewhat unsure of what a jumper switch is, it just consists of a smallplatic cap which covers two metal conductive pins on the motherboard. There is usually a pin which is not covered.
Now once you have found the CMOS/ BIOS jumper setting, you will need to first remove the motherboard battery. The battery is nothing more than a glorified watch battery of the CR2032 type, and it will be silver in colour and obviously round in shape (typical cell battery).
Once you have removed the battery, you will need to then clear the CMOS/ BIOS and this is done by moving that jumper switch into the clear position. The pin that is exposed will need to be covered withthe plastic jumper, and the pin on the opposite side will need to be exposed. Leave the jumper in the clear position for about 10-20 seconds or so, and then replace it back to the original position. (doing this discharges all of the electricity in the BIOS/ CMOS chip). Once you have done this, you put the battery back in place and then start the machine, then you are good to go. Start the machine and enter the BIOS as you planned to do. You might want to consider ormatting your hard disk and re-installing windows or whatever operating system you have, and this is eeasy enough, just change the boot sequence to boot from your CD/ DVD drive first, the your hard drive second. Once its loaded up, re-enter the BIOS and reset it back to HDD first.
Now f this has not worked, then you have an oooopsie (this is my saying of oh ***T, oops, something has malfunctioned. Its more than likely to be hardware driven, so take out your hard drive first and try to boot, if it lets you bios, then you found your fault. Try this with all devices until you either find the fault, or you have narrowed this to your processor/ motherboard.
Now im sure this will solve your problem, but there is one thng you should need to know about, and it is how to identify the correct jumper. This will have either any of the following markings written on the motherboard very close to the where the jumper is. You may need glasses/ magnifyer lens in order to read the lettering, but it should say one of the following things.
CLRCMOS
CLCMOS
CLRBIOS
CMOSRST
RESET
CMOSRT
BIOSRST
CMOSCLR
CLEAR
could also be under J1, JUMPER1
Now im sure that this is the fixya for you, but if this still does not work, then please get hold of me, and i will provide you with more info.
I wish you all the best, and hope you manage to solve this issue sortly
kind regards
yours sincerely

Same as above, cant find the reset jumper tho
my acer aspire 1430 power key wont turn off even after complete shutdown, with CPU still running. if left as it is on battery mode, it'll drain its battery and would flag a 'not completely shutdown' message upon re-boot.
no bios sequence
