I have installed pc suite 1.0 to my pc but can't get a connection, I have windows vista but can't find driver in device manager? CAn't make a connection and seem to be just going round in circles and getting nowhere fast!

Device Manager

Click "Start" and go to "Control Panel." Double-click "System" and locate the Hardware tab to find the Device Manager. Vista and Windows 7 users can just type "Device Manager' from the start menu.

Locate "Disk Drives" from the list and double-click "Portable Device." If there is an exclamation mark or other error on the device, go to the "Drivers" tab.

Click "Uninstall" and remove the player. Restart the computer and attach the player reinstall the drivers.

Anti-virus conflicts

Plug the player into a different computer to see if it gets recognized. If it does not, contact the manufacturer to find out if it is broken.

Turn off your anti-virus program on your PC if the device works on other computers. Reinstall the drivers using the device manager as described in section 1.

Plug in the player to confirm the connection.

Other solutions

Check the battery level and make sure the batter is not low or depleted. A low battery will sometimes prevent the player from connecting. Let it charge from the power cord, if necessary.

Verify that you have at least Service Pack 1 installed. Go to the Start menu and type "Run." Press Enter.

Type "Winver" in the box and press "Enter." The Windows version will be displayed along with any installed service packs. Download a service pack from Microsoft, if applicable.

Remove the player from the USB port and push a pin into the reset hole located on the bottom. Reconnect to see if the problem is resolved.

Check the connection to make sure it's secure. The cable should fit firmly into both the player and the computer. Connect to a different USB port if you have one available.


Tips & Warnings

A bad cable will sometimes prevent a good connection. Use a different one to isolate the cause.

Well here is what you can do that may work

1.) go to the manufactures web page for your device and download the new drivers for Vista (ONLY IF YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE IT).

2.) Download the music managers software for windows vista.. eighter from the devices manufactures home page or you can try this

3.) You can transfer music directly to your device by copying and pasting it.. You device will show up in Compuer as a drive..

uninstall again your pc studio, restart you laptop and reinstall your pc suite, but before you do install it, try to do this trick, right click the pc studio, select properties, then select run in compatability mode of xp and vista, then select run as administrator, select apply and ok. it will install, there are times that windows 7 will inform you that the program not installed, you will be having two options, select, '' install the program with recommended settings''.

once installed, connect your phone to your laptop, select settings on you pc suite, select connections, select usb, this will command the pc suite to search for phones attached to usb ports. once searched, it will install your phone automatically and will look for appropriate device drivers for your phone through your pc suite, once connected you are set.

if this doesn't fix your problem, try updating you device through device manager, direct your device installation by browsing the folder to your samsung pc suite and unchecking the automatically install the best driver and checking the box for include the drivers on this folder.

try this..
1. open LG PC suite, connect your phone to PC,let the PC suite find your phone..
2. open your device manager and check if there is an exclamation mark beside the devices listed there including your phone.
3. once you find it, right click that device, select update driver,select yes this time only.
4. don't select install the software automatically, select '' install from a list on a specific location'', click next.
5. tick the search for the best driver on these location.
6. untick search from removable or floopy, tick include this location on the search,
7. click browse and point out the windows to the folder where your programs was installed by default, C:\Program files\LG PC Suite\drivers

Try a different USB port.

Make sure u've got all the drivers required.

To get the drivers go to the sony ericsson web page, download and install them.

Restart and the reconnect your phone and try it. It should work.

1) On your phone, go to Menu -> Connectivity -> USB -> And change settings to "Data Service"
2) Plug in your phone to your computer and wait for Device Manager to say "Device has been successfully installed."
3) Go to your LG Phone's Software (PC Suite) and connect.

If PC Suite fails to find a phone,

2) Double check that your USB Driver is installed.

Download the latest driver for dvd rom from Acer that will work with Vista SP1. Also try uninstalling the device in device manager and restart your computer. Vista may find "new hardware" and install the driver from its driver pack in SP1.

Well, ok first-of-all check if u have installed all the drivers for your motorola phone.They should have been included in the pc-suite disk that u must have got with ur phone.
Drivers tell the computer or software on how to use and communicate with the device.Without that u wont b able to connect ur device with the computer.
Secondly, check the "Device manager" in the control panel in windows and see if the correct drivers have been installed and there is no "?" icon there. "?" icon means that either the device is not working or the drivers have not been properly installed.You might also have to enable the option "Show hidden devices".This option can b enabled from the "view" tab inside the device manager. 
In case "?" icon is there than double click the "?" device and an window would open showing the details of the device.Just insert the phone cd and under the "driver" tab cick "update driver" and just folow the instructions that follows.
Thirdly, if all this does'nt work than check from the manufacturer's site if an update for ur phone's driver(that supports vista) is available or not.Also, get the latest motorola PC-SUITE that supports vista as well.You can also see if any "FIRMWARE" update is available for ur phone."FIRMWARE" adds more functionality to the phone and they r provided from time to time by the respective manufacturers.You can check the motorola site for all these details.
Fourthly, check if ur network operator provide "internet connectivity service" or not.Talk to the customer care executive and if the answer is "yes" than ask him to provide u with the internet settings.These settings r usually sent to the mobile and than they r saved there itself.
Note: that all network operators such as vodaphone,idea etc dont provide internet service everwhere so check with ur operator wheather these services r provided or not.

What OS are you running? Does your system use USB 1.1 or USB 2.0? Try powering off your w910, wait a few seconds to make sure it completely cycles off, then connect your phone to your PC. It should turn on in USB (ie. 'Mass Storage') mode. If Windows attempts to Autoplay the device, Cancel the dialog. If Windows attempts to install any drivers for the device (or Vista prompts you to scan the device), Cancel the dialog(s). If you go into 'My Computer', is your phone recognized here (as a USB Mass Storage Device)? If not, the app is not going to recognize it either. Try disconnecting any other USB devices or memory card readers.
