Bluetooth headsets, like many portable devices can be charged on a USB port on a computer, which supply less than 1A, so either charger would be suitable. Looking at the manual, a full charge should take two hours, so half an hour seems a little quick. Perhaps it was part charged? You could see if you can listen to music for six hours on a charge, and if so how long it takes to charge then. The manual can be found here.S9 user guide - Motorola
make sure you charge the S9 using a motorola mini usb AC charger or a mini USB cord plugged into a live port.
press and hold the circle vertical bar until the light is steady blue and pair it with your bluetooth device. you only have two buttons at the rear of the device under the motorola logo.
I had the same problem but instead of a red light it would flash green twice and stay off. I could not find the original charger and another plug in charger would not work. I plugged it into my computer with a usb cable and after several seconds it started charging.
From Falvey86: Hold the headset start button for about 10 to 20 seconds, the lights will start flashing red and blue, then the search for Bluetooth devices from phone and it will appear as: S9. press "connect", a window will appear, place the password "0000", that should do the trick!!!!
I did exactly what geozep0 indicated in his comment with similar successful results. I called the Motorola customer service number: 1-866-289-6686. Per the representative I spoke with, Motorola's standard warranty policy covers the entire unit (including the earbuds) for one year from the date of purchase. They are sending me new earbuds free of charge. Success!
