Frigidaire (made by Electrolux Home Products) over range, stainless 1000W microwave:: Model# FMV158FMB:: was using microwave. heard a loud buzzing noise and microwave went out. will not come on. either at or split second after loud buzzing sound, all lights & electrical at my house flickered so don't know if there was a brown out or what. it seemed to all happen at the same time. Have checked the breaker & it is NOT thrown. Plugged it into another electrical plug using a heavy duty electrical cord & it still does not come on - no light on the display; nothing.

Sounds like the door latch switch is broken and shorting out.

I have a frigidaire Electrolux gallery series glmv168cqi microwave. The timer counts down, but the oven doesn't turn on. Sometimes when you open the door the fan turns on.

That would be a failing bottom door switch, or its mount.
My help file on door switches is here:
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/doorsw.txt
There's a video here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Once the control panel has been removed, you can access the door switches for testing and possible replacement.
There should be a technical manual hidden behind the controller or grille, too.

I have a electrolux 1000w above range micro that stopped heating...maybe a fuse? Where is fuse?

if a fuse has blown then its very likley there is a fault inside this microwave,,,as for poking about inside it,,,dont!!!! even if you unplug it from the wall socket there will still be 1000's of volts kicking about in it and they can kill you if you tuch the wrong part,,,,is this risk worth taking???? its up to you!

My Microwave oven makes a loud buzzing noise and appears as if its about to catch fire with flashing coming from the metal plate located on the right side of the oven. It's model number 7G65005787....

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck somewhere in the cavity of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.

The waveguide cover (also called a spatter shield) is usually on the right side of the cavity and is about the size of a playing card and often held in place by a plastic rivet.

In some models it is a larger stirrer cover type made of thicker plastic in the ceiling of the oven.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced.

It provides critical protection for the magnetron.

Your owner's manual may show you how to remove the cover.

You can download owner's manuals and installation instructions for Electrolux and Frigidaire here.

The model is FMV158FMB. What does the code SE

SE error means you have a shorted membrane keypad (called a membrane switch in this case).

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Microwave will no longer heat. Model #MA-1000W

So we can help you, please post a NEW question, and please include your model number MA-1000Was well as the answers to these questions:

When you try to microwave are the inside light, internal cooling fan and turntable all working?

Is there any unusual noise or is it louder or quieter than normal?

A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the mag can be bad without that sound.

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Will not heat at all

Could be the "board". Well known for failure. Get the part number from the board & search eBay for NEW board.Instructions probably on youtube
