make sure battery is in mother board make sure the fuse is good and in mother board make sure aluminium tower is clamed on black chip to mother board and also make sure fan is cecurelt tight on mother board.

85 to 95 is ok. Anything higher than100 is pushing it. If possible add a fan to the side of the system case (Best choice) or you can buy a south bridge fan. Try going to the Asus website and look for support for your MB drivers and Operating System.
If there is no longer any Win98 support for your MB then I suggest a fresh computer and more recent software for less hassle!
A ten year old OS indicates to me that you might be stuck until you go with the flow!

ok i have encounterd such a problem myself , it works on some systems but just give it a try , download the "soundmax digital intigrated audio" pack , it comes with audio drivers and all neccesary software
